I am a contractor myself and am happy with the whole process. I was totally worried about the likes of Tesla and other fly by night solar contractors. They did my install 2 years ago in a very organized manner with thorough communication. I recently found some loose bolts, so I contacted them to see if they could come out and tighten some of the hard to reach bolts. They promptly scheduled a crew at no cost. They will not be as cheap as Tesla, but they will answer your call and are honest. I would highly recommend.

Your Energy Solutions is a great contractor from start to finish. I had some special requirements to include RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) ferrite chokes and they worked perfectly. Y.E.S. We own a SunPower Solar Panel system that was installed about a year ago and unfortunately, they filed for bankruptcy. As a result we no longer have a warranty on labor and pretty much have had to navigate through endless phone calls, websites, blogs, etc. to understand our options moving forward. Driving to Costco one day, I discovered a local Livermore solar company called “Your Energy Solutions”. The founder and owner,
Jim, came out and met with me for quite awhile answering my general questions and how they might be able to assist me now and in the future.
Jim was generous with his time with no upselling or pressure.
We discussed a monitoring issue I was experiencing and the potential solutions he offered were feasible and practical. Some I could try on my own too. As it turns out the monitoring issue resolved itself.
After getting so much run around and sales pressure from other potential vendors, speaking with Jim was a breath of fresh air.
If I have future problems I won’t hesitate to give them a call.
P.S. I also found their front office administrator/ receptionist to be very helpful, pleasant, and professional too.

Your Energy Solutions installed sixteen solar panels and two batteries at my house. They do excellent work and are very professional. I am mostly now self sufficient for electricity as a result. Such a relief to be almost free of PG&E!

Having had 3 projects with YES over the course of about 12 months - solar battery backup (Apr 2023), solar panel expansion (Nov 2023), and solar panels upgrade (Apr 2024) - I would only recommend them to someone who is technical and knowledgeable with solar technology/electrical circuits, and is willing to check their work and be your own project manager. Their main weaknesses are project management and poor installation quality. I had given them 3 opportunities/projects to redeem themselves but sadly they failed on each and every project.

After writing to their CEO about my experience with YES, he dispatched his general manager to call and apologized to me.

To YES' credit, they always fix their mistakes. They do seem to want to do right for their customers. And their price can be competitive if you are willing to negotiate.

For example, for the solar battery project, their electrician exhibited poor workmanship and made several wiring errors that I discovered and/or fixed despite their assurance that everything was working correctly, or something is wrong with my WiFi network. It took months for me to identify & prove to YES and the equipment manufacturer that the problems are with the equipment and poor installation.

For the solar panels expansion project, YES installers wired a new solar array into an existing array, rather than running its own dedicated wiring as shown in the approved drawings from their own engineers. Despite taking this shortcut, they did not upgrade the circuit breaker for wiring for the additional current produced by the new solar panels.

Unfortunately, this problem was not discovered until I upgraded the older panels which caused the combined electrical current to exceed the circuit breaker and wire size. As result, the circuit breaker kept tripping and could have caused serious fire damage because the wiring was undersized for the amount of current being produced. Again, I was the person who discovered the undersized circuit breaker and wiring and reported to their management.

During a visit in July 2024 to correct communication problems with the solar panel upgrade project, YES installer cut wires from the solar panels WITHOUT turning off the circuit breaker causing a power surge that crashed the system which was only determined later by the equipment manufacturer because some equipment did not work properly afterwards.

And with the most recent follow-up visit September 2024 to fix the same 5-month long problem as described above, YES installers did not have black wiring. So, they simply wrapped the red wire with black electrical tape.

A new issue is literally created each time YES attempts to correct an existing issue. There is another visit scheduled for Nov 2024 to fix the problems caused during the Sep 2024 visit.

Included are just a few photos that demonstrated poor quality but there are so many more like the ones described above.

Bottom line, buyers beware.

I had my solar system installed by Yes Energy Solutions (YES) in Dec 2019…..and my hat goes off to Jim and his entire team for creating a culture of consumer excellence and exceeding my expectations in all fronts. I did a walk-in late Oct (appointments are recommended) but was able to discuss my solar options with Gary S. The Dublin office and showroom was small, but you’ll find an assortment of the latest and top rated / market trending panels. I decided to go with LG360Q1K-V5 NeonR Prime Black panels with the Enphase IQ7+ inverters. Personally, I’ve always felt solar panels distress the aesthetics of a home; so I went the sleek black panels without the horizontal/vertical patterns, while keeping max performance output in mind. I was able to negotiate rates with YES, but not by much. At the end, although a premium was paid, it was money well spent. YES handled all the building permits, technical drawings, organizing walk-throughs with the city, connecting my panels with PG&E to the grid, and more. Celeste and Ashely constantly kept me informed of every step and milestone. A HUGE shout out goes to the “Purple” team who worked the day after Christmas to install our system. Team Purple (Alex, Omar, Ismael, Matt) did an outstanding job; they were courteous and professional. Don’t take my word for it, look at the attached photos. You’ll agree these guys take pride in their work, ensuring installation was watertight sealed, wires perfectly organized, and panels true and straight. The customer service doesn’t end there; after setting us up with PG&E and the job was done, Franki from the office sent a few followup emails to ensure they are here for us should we have any issues. We’re able to monitor our system and see exactly how much each panel is producing. Hopefully we will not run into any issues, but if we do, I know YES will be there for us. I recommend YES without hesitation for your energy needs.
