We had a complicated job. Installing a new central HVAC system in our main house as well as a separate “mini-split” system in a an attached apartment.

I received several quotes from different companies, including West Coast HVAC and Solar. We were aware of this company as they had performed work on our old systems in the past and we were impressed with how affordable, well organized and cordial they were.

When Mike, the Sales Rep for West Coast did walked our property and developed the quote, I was expecting the job to take at least a week and be more than we could afford. Much to my surprise, he promised that they would be in and out in 2 days and the price beat out the other competitors.

Additionally, where as the other companies offered an old hybrid system of gas and electric, (a furness and A/C compressor), the West Coast system would be all electric heat pumps. Much more efficient and far less polluting.

On the day of the job, 2 large crews arrived. Their work was synchronized like a ballet. As promised, they were in an out in 2 days and we now have 2 beautiful, quiet and efficient systems that we’re proud of. We highly recommend West Coast HVAC and Solar.

Our experience with West Coast Air and Solar was exceptional from the beginning. Our estimator, Mark, was on time, professional, and knowledgeable with the Mitsubishi split air system. We received our estimate which was a bit of a shock. We went with West Coast because they were a Diamond company with Mitsubishi which gave us a 12 year warranty on our system. We scheduled it and had a crew at our house within a week. Dominic, and his crew were always prompt and treated our house as their own. They cleaned up after each of the four days. We were pleased with the installation.
We gave the company a 4.5 star because of the 16 pages of paperwork that we needed to print to give the City of San Diego to have our permit signed off. For the price we paid, I would have liked for West Coast to provide the paperwork to us or better yet, we should be able to electronically mail it to the city.

Thomas Amato was great. We had a problem with our heater not working and we got few quotes from big names in SD. Thomas was the only one who digged deeper and told me that the problem is different. We went with him and turns out he was right. The diagnosis by other company would have costed us money and the pressure switch would have failed again. Turns out there was a dead bird trapped in the inductor fan. He did a thorough job of cleaning and making everything work again.

Very nice to work with and explained his reasoning with steps.

I only have positive experiences with this company.

First of all, I must mention that my calls are always answered by someone, no matter when I call. And they are always friendly and helpful. You don't have to "speak" with robot, or "choose your option."

We had solar panels and a heat pump installed by them - done by two different teams. Both teams did wonderful job, especially paying attention to detail installing, and clean-up very good. When I found some issues after they finished their job, and they came right back to fix it.

The inspector from the city was impressed by the job done by their team. I have had the city came to inspect other matters in the past, but this was the only time I heard the inspector exclaimed: "They did a good job!" Yes, they did an excellent job by taking their time to make it perfect.

Finally, I need to mention the sales rep. He was honest and patient and disclosed everything upfront - no surprise after we sign the contact. He made the arrangement with the roofer for us, and everything went very smoothly. He kindly answered every question I asked.

We compared some companies when we were deciding who to go with for our solar system, and I did a lot of homework. Then, we arrived at this company - West Coast Heating, Air Conditioning and Solar. We are fortunate that we were able to find a great company to do business with.

We were blown away by the way Dominic and his team approached an extremely difficult job. They worked 11/2 hrs after normal finishing time to make sure we understood the system so we had heat for the weekend. There were no complaints and no ‘can’t be done’. Exceptional!
