I had an auto draft no go through due to updating my CC and didn’t see the late notice immediately 1: because I’ve never had an issue with payments going through, and 2: because I was in the hospital having a baby. As soon as I saw the late charge, I called and explained my situation, asking for grace as we just had a hectic period of time with the arrival of our child and because I’ve never been behind on a payment before. The customer service representative stated putting a note for the manager to waive that fee but never mentioned the bill (and late fee) had to be paid while the manager looked over the account to waive the fee. After this time, only 1 attempt to contact me regarding my account was made. No email. No voicemail. Just a single missed call. Next thing I know, my water was shut off. When I called back, they then stated they were willing to remove the initial $15 late fee; but were now charging a $60 suspension fee… all of this could have been avoided if their customer service rep simply stated ā€œgo ahead and make the payment and a $15 credit can be put back towards the account.ā€ In the meanwhile, I was waiting for the bill to reflect no late fee.

Now I’m paying an additional $45 (when this all started over $15) because their customer service representatives have minimal communication skills and do not explain things in completion. The customer gets penalized for their employees mistakes… terrible customer service; but thanks for waiving the $15.

I have had a very poor experience with this company. I moved into a neighborhood where this company provided the water to everyone. I applied multiple times for a new account setup and never got a response. I had to call multiple times to get my service activated in which they turned my water off because they stated I never applied. The water pressure is very poor.
The reason I’m writing this review is because the company has a water meter on my house that is faulty and causing it to show me using 4x the amount of water I would normally. They sent a technician out to verify the meter was bad, not sure why they didn’t replace it at the time. I was told to just pay the normal amount. They never fixed the meter and the cut my water off for lack of payment on the billing issue they never fixed and the water meter is still broken. They then told me that I need to pay the amount to get my water back on and they will refund it later. I am so tired of dealing trying to get them to actually do something. I wish there was another place that would offer this service. I’m almost at the point of paying for my own well to be installed.

This is the worst water utility company that I have ever experienced! They don’t even deserve a one star. There have been several instances where they have poor water pressure and have interrupted service like today where they are working in another neighborhood until 5pm. So now I have to be without water all day?! I pay too much as is for water I can’t even drink. I have to buy bottled water which is another bill every month! I went a week without water during the last storm and no compensation was given for my inconvenience. Also they trick you with the bill.. you are charged a $15 late fee for being less than 24 hours late and then $60 for being 3 days late when they put your account in suspension! My water has NEVER been interrupted yet they won’t waive the fee! They do this because they know customers need water running to the home and they have monopolized this area and we have no other choice but to abide by this price gauging company rules. The customer service is just as poor as the water quality and service or lack thereof that they ā€œprovideā€. What a disgrace! Something needs to change!!

I personally wish that I could leave zero stars. Super unprofessional technician named Daniel. Rosalyn the manager at the downtown branch only cares about the money they make. She is extremely incompetent of the equipment the company provides water too. She couldn’t identify the paperwork that her company is supposed to provide to people. The company itself is as big of a joke as it gets. If you want terrible service with sloppy technicians this is your go too. Manager also stated and I quote.ā€water heaters don’t explode because they are groundedā€. End quote. Someone should teach them a class about water utilities since it’s in the name. Or just not provide false information. Absolute garbage. They can’t even keep up with their accounts and paper work leaving the office. It’s an absolute embarrassment to have to interact with them. I can’t even fathom the level of stupidity leaving the office from that manager all the way down. They just want your money. Biggest group of crooks imaginable. Avoid moving anywhere their service is provided. Unless you get your own well. This is not a rant it’s a warning. The team lead at the office also didn’t recognize the paper they put out. So the office can’t even process paperwork which is their job. I reached out to the better business bureau as well.

Also new addition. When you finally get them to cooperate they just sit in the truck and do nothing while their customers still have no water. Once again adding to my claim of unprofessionalism. If money is that big of an issue for them maybe they should crack down on their employees wasting time and natural resources sitting in their trucks.

Awful customer service and management is not responding stating they are busy on the phone. We had auto pay for over 2 years and never got issues but when account got compromised they added $35 charge stating they will not waive it till we get a letter from the bank. So we did and they still adding it just to get extra. SCAM Socks that you cannot change the company thus their customer service have DONT CARE ATTITUDE.

As the only water source for thousands of coastal Georgia homes WUM comes up very short. I can think of at least 4 other residents in my neighborhood who have been overcharged by hundreds of dollars. Only to have WUM not respond to phone calls concerning the over billing and offering no recourse. I waited for 6 months to have the extra 200.00 $ overcharge removed from my account . They won by attrition, I ended up just paying the overcharge to keep my water on. One of my neighbors even contacted our local Reps office about being overcharged by 600.00$ . They were told ā€œsorry, it’s a private company there is nothing we can do.ā€ This has going on for years here in the South Bryan county. Years back Waterways tried to sue WUM for overcharging its residents. A manager told my neighbor ā€œgood luck, waterways paid 40,000.00$ in attorneys fees, see where it got them.ā€ Now WUM is on a charm campaign because they now have a total monopoly in the area. They are the only water supplier to all new neighborhoods in the area. If you’re not in an area with existing infrastructure you have to use WUM. It may now be written into law. Thank you to Coastal Georgia lawmakers for handing our rights away. A city or town cannot contest who provides water to new developments. So who chooses? No body, it’s seems like a monopoly being written into law. And if you have WUM available in your neighborhood it’s actually illegal to use a private well for household water use. And when we loose power we have no water. WUM sent out an email during the last big storm saying your water pressure will be lower than normal. We all had no water at all. For days. Because WUM does not have a backup power source like a simple generator for our neighborhood well. They have pledged to install a backup generator on all new developments. How about taking some of the money from WUM’s new price hike and install backup generators for existing customers. I think WUM is not a utility it is a big business who owns your water rights. I’ve never seen a government let a private company monopolize water resources for residential use. Sad but true, it is ok here in Georgia. This is my opinion. Let’s hear other customers opinions.

If I could give this corrupt establishment zero or negative stars I would....This place has some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced in my life...They have a monopoly on your water that should be free anyways...I've never paid for water in any state ive ever resided nor have I ever heard you werent aloud to have your own well installed...But when youre as greedy and grimy as this establishment, yeah I can understand they don't want to lose a dollar...Also don't have a hardship in this lifetime, and not be able to pay your bill the day it's due, cause trust and believe they will disconnect your service so you have to pay that reconnection fee.....This comes after paying astronomical water bills for consecutive billing periods.....Had tech come out and tried explaining that for the years we've lived here prior to them working on the lines, I never had an astronomical bill, and now all of a sudden for 8 months, 4 billing cycles, I've been paying between 400 and 600 dollar water bills...But I have a leak somewhere, cause I only do this kind of work for a living, but can't and don't know I have a leak.....No sorry....But magically my neighbor has a problem with their water line, they come out to fix it and low and behold, guess what....No more astronical bills....How about that....Isnt that somethin.....So do you think they would reimburse me any kind of money Well surely they wouldn't.....How about a credit on my account? No way, can't possibly do that.....But I will tell you what we can do...Put a lock on your water meter and shut your water off....while youre out of state......And upon your return home, say you tampered with the lock and it's gonna be an additional 250.00 on top of a reconnection fee, when I never even received a bill....nor was there one in my mailbox upon my return home.....But guess what was Illegally put into my mailbox by their technician A door hanging tag that says your service has been disconnected.....IN MY MAILBOX Since when is this aloud This company does whatever they want whenever they want because they know 1 thing......YOU GOTTA HAVE WATER AND THEY ARE THE ONLY COMPANY WHO CAN PROVIDE YOU WITH SUCH.......CORRUPTION AND Illegal activity at its finest.........This company is horrible, and I personally would Love to see them go under........
