Our furnace went out in December 2024 and we called Val Verde energy to come diagnose the problem. They said it was a blower motor that needed replacing and they would order the part. No communication about how much the part was going to cost and no communication for over a week about where the part was. Meanwhile, it’s December in New Mexico and rapidly approaching the holidays. Got very little communication from their office about the delay in the part arriving so we were calling to find out the status. Apparently this was too much drama for them and now it’s the beginning of March and the furnace is doing the same thing it was doing before. Contacted their office and they have refused to do any more work because of the drama Even after I paid them $1200 for fixing the problem. Over $600 for the part even though online I can’t find one for more than $350. The owner himself spoke to me on the phone, but seemed very unsympathetic about why people would have a sense of urgency in the middle of winter over the furnace being out. They also refused my request for an invoice for the part.

Top notch, somehow squeezed me in same-day. I had pipes burst and he fixed them in about an hour. Professional and excellent work. I highly recommend them. Diego was awesome. The picture is the "before"; it's a running electric heater standing in an inch of water. Not what you want to come home to. But thanks to Valverde Energy, it's all fixed three hours later.

I am not a fan of reviews written before systems have really been put through their paces, so this review is based on real experience. I live completely off the grid - there are no utilities available at my location. Four years ago Valverde Energy installed a 6kw photovoltaic system on the house I was building. In addition, five 4'x8' thermal solar panels were installed on the south-facing exterior wall of my garage. Together they provide all the energy needs and radiant heat for my 1450 sq. ft. home, garage and well. Have there ever been issues? A couple, but the customer service response has been excellent and that's what you really count on after doing business with a company. I have no background in things electrical, so there has definitely been a learning curve in order to troubleshoot a couple of times, but I've been guided through the process and had my questions answered. I can highly recommend working with Valverde Energy for your solar needs.

They are professional, honest and kind. The crew is super nice, they know what they are dong and they explain things before they do the work. The office staff is absolutely fantastic. I have used them since I arrived in Taos 14 years ago and highly recommend them...as I said at the beginning...they are the BEST!

Valverde Energy installed a solar hot water system for me in the fall of 2007. Larry Mapes, the owner, suggested I also switch out from propane to natural gas, since it was in the new road adjacent to my property. With those two changes, my gas bill has dropped from about $1200 a year to about $300 a year. That includes heat, which is minimal, since I heat mostly with wood. My gas bill averages $26 a month now, and in the summer (hot water and very little cooking), it is about $13. The solar thermal system paid for itself after 6 years (two years ago), so now my hot water from the sun is actually free!

The customer service is excellent. If I have questions, they are promptly answered. I needed one service call, and Dave came out the same day. Larry set up a payment plan with me, too, so it was painless.

I highly recommend Valverde Energy for solar thermal installations and all your plumbing needs!

Our heat went out. Valverde came the next day. Our serviceman had reviewed our file and system at the office so he new what to expect. We had a heater installed by Larry and Valverde last October. The heater installation went fairly well, the installer didn't clean up after himself but no problem, I didn't mind sweeping up the mess. The heater worked through the winter and I expect it will continue to do so. However, when I had questions about the heater, regarding operation, specifics on type of thermostat the heater would take and other follow up questions, they were very unhelpful. They didn't seem to have any idea how to operate the item they had just installed. They knew very little about the product. I spent the next few weeks stumbling through the manual and phone calls to the manufacturer. I found Larry to be condescending and at one point, quite chauvinistic. I'm a pretty fair and open minded person....I would not call this experience pleasant. But at least the heater works.
