Cool spot, the man inside was super nice. He walked me thru the map of the surrounding area and the other dams associated with it. Be sure to hit the west outlook on your way in and out.

If you like visiting state parks and monuments, then this is a nice place to visit. Unfortunately, the visitors center is closed Thanksgiving to April, but still a well kept park to visit. It has plenty of placards to read as well as walking trails to burn off those calories. Looks like a good place to wade in and fish also. Plenty of parking around the area as well.

It was way bigger than I had expected! Nice walking area with picnic tables and plenty of parking. You can walk down towards the hill and take a short hike around the bottom of the dam.

Beautiful! A great place for pictures, a picnic, and history. It was great to learn some of the history of the area at the Lenior Museum, and shop at the grist mill, play in the creek, and picnic by the thrashing barn! I can't wait to visit again 😃 there are trails to walk and fishing to be done and so much more to explore!

Excellent visitor center. The ranger was extremely informative about the TVA system. There are several displays and videos to watch. One on the videos goes over the construction of the dam. This dam was the first TVA dam and only took three years to build, employing over 2,800 workers, working 24/7 to get it built. This was part of the civilian conservation corps (CCC) during the Great Depression in 1933 under president Franklin D Roosevelt started. Great history and information here
