We have been going to Trek Bicycle in La Mesa for 4 years Very professional and knowledgeable. Their customer service is great very friendly. We have had repairs done and very pleased with turn around time and prices. They helped us restore an old child’s bike to look like new. Highly recommend going here for your bike needs.

Amazing staff. My 11 year old Smooth Collie's dog stairs that she uses to get into her SUV needed the handle covers replaced.. Leon was kind enough to wrap the handles with bike handle bar tape. Thank you for saving the day, the dog stairs and being so nice. I would definitely recommend this bike shop. 5 + Stars.

My husband and I had a great experience when purchasing our new bikes. Leon who helped us was very knowledgeable and had great recommendations for the type of bike riding we are looking to do. I would highly recommend checking this place out if you are looking for any type of bicycle.

In the past I've had good experience at this trek location. This recent experience sadly was a bad one. Took my bike in Saturday, and they said it would be done Sunday. Sunday comes, and they have an issue with another bike they're working on, which is understandable. They say it'll be ready Tuesday, today, and they'll comp the brake pads I was replacing. Well, today they told me dad, who was helping me get my bike, that they needed to replace the other set of brake pads, so I was essentially paying the quoted price they told me Saturday. While I have had great experiences with this location, and the staff are always helpful, this recent experience definitely sours it a bit. Doesn't help that the tech saw the replaced pads from my front tire and said they didn't look like they needed to be replaced.

Trek in La Mesa is a great place. I have been there multiple times for service and we even bought a few bikes there and everyone is always nice and helpful. You guys get busy sometimes because you are so good but it's worth the wait every time. Bring your bike here and buy bikes from these guys they are amazing.

Shimano is recalling 100,000's of cranks that can come un-bonded and could lead to a crash. This is a very well known problem among the cycling community. Which I have personally experienced with a Dura-ace 9000 crank breaking in half during a ride in 2017. And now I have a Ultegra 6800 crank that I removed in July 2023 because it was showing evidence of separating. After hearing of the recall, I took the 6800 crank into Trek Superstore in La Mesa for inspection. Initially, they said that it was ok and not defective with no evidence of un-bonding or separation. I think it is clearly separating and becoming un-bonded. Either the technician doesn't know what he is doing, or he is doing exactly what Shimano wants him to do. which is denying as many claim as possible. I would think that they would want to error of the side of safety. A couple of days later, the service manager, Ivan, called me to apologize about the mistake that one of the technicians made in the evaluation of the crank.
He asked me to bring it back and they would submit the claim immediately. I went back today, Saturday 10/7, and he again apologized for the mistake, and it would be handled right away. After I spoke with Ivan, I went browsing around the store and another employee came over to see if I needed any help. We chatted for a few minutes about a bike on display, He asked what my name was. After i told him he again apologized about the crank problem. It turned out he was the manager and was very concerned that they did not get such a safety item right the first time. I think that no matter how hard you try, mistakes are going to happen. It's what you do to make it right that counts and they definitely did what they had to do to fix it. So kudos to them for that. I posted some pics below, one of the 9000 arm that broke and two of the 6800.
