The Website:

I first try to apply for a 2 system setup online. Fail 1- the website will not let me finish as the cash option is only available and will not let me process anyway. I contact support, who initially and hastily says it is my computer. I assure them it is not as I have tried it on a chromebook, a macbook, an Imac, a surface pro, 2 tablets, 2 phones and 2 PCs (I was on a mission). They immediately respond with it must be my connection then. Once again I respond with, no, I have tried it on my mobile 4g lte connection, hardlined, wifi, and at a neighbors who has a different isp, I am on google fiber and he is on xfinity. Only now does the Tesla tech look at the website and respond with I will need to try again the next day.

I apply the following day with a 2 system setup. When I first get the drawings it is for a 1 system. I call in and ask and they explain that my drawings are for what I asked. I explain again I requested a 2 system setup, then they check again, verify I did, in fact request 2 systems, then call and have my system revised.

Paperwork

As the paperwork was sent I read and signed all within 24 hours, and the system kept failing to mark them complete when they were and I would have to call Tesla and let them know, then I would receive phone calls, emails, and texts informing me I had not completed the paperwork and the Tesla employees would assure me I had not given it was showing on my dashboard. I would, once again have to prove to Tesla, I had done my part.

Permits

According to the dashboard my permits had been submitted, and all I needed to do was wait and for my installation date, July 23, 2019. One week prior, I received a text confirming the installation date. On 7/22/19 I receive another text saying my installation will need to be rescheduled to 9/3/19 due to needing more action, with no further explanation. When I call to ask, the woman who responds tells me I should have known the dates were tentative and this is normal and it has been explained. I explain that it was not, and the text confirming my installation said nothing of it being tentative and a one day before text is unacceptable. She responds again saying that I knew and its my problem. I speak to multiple supervisors who offer no explanation until I get to a David who discovers generic permits were submitted and rejected. The permitting department claimed they were trying a pilot program to expedite permits. I said this was impossible as Provo city rejected the plans 2 days after receiving them and Tesla did not respond or react for almost 3 weeks. If it were a pilot program to expedite then they would not be waiting the standard amount of time and I should have been informed. I have also yet to receive copies of the forms submitted, though I have requested 3-4 times.

Scheduling

On top of being delayed multiple times, I was assured by David the 3rd of Sept would be the final delay of my solar installation. I received a call today to push it back yet again to the 5th of September.

Overall

They damaged my home, they have no cohesiveness as a company, it took 2 additional months for install and another 3 after install to get my home repaired. Initial install was done incorrectly as most panels had to be rewired and jobsite was left messy and rolls of tape under the panels. Staff were uninformed and talked me out of purchasing 2 powerwalls which I wanted dearly. System went down within 2 months of install due to faulty equipment. Please use someone else!

I am trying to find every where on the internet where I can leave a negative review for Tesla’s solar service. They cannot even figure out how to submit a bill correctly or even take ACH payments. So if they can’t figure out how to collect money due to them, just imagine how incompetent they are about the actual solar energy. Technical support is nonexistent. If you do manage to reach someone, they are completely incompetent. Trying to get anything service support from them will take days of your time, and then they still won’t fix the issue. Just don’t work with them. Seriously.

Tesla Energy is a Big scam company involved in loan sharking business. They sell you a system that cost $13000 and promise that finance rate is 2.99% but when they send you the contract to sign they change the amount financed to more than $33000
This means they jack up the price by $20,000
I am reporting this company to State Attorney’s office and federal authorities.
AVOID, AVOID, AVOIY GETTING SCAMED BY THIS COMPANY.

Do not buy any products from Tesla Energy/Solar under any circumstances. If you have purchase a system yet, get out of it as soon as possible. I purchased a system from them at the end of 2020. It was installed on the north side of the house in January 2021 which is really horrible for the winter months. My system worked fine for 15 months then the inverter went out. My system sat idle for 4 weeks because they are such backlogged in scheduling technicians. My technician was out sick and couldn't come out for another 3 weeks. It took 7 weeks for a technician to come out to fix it while our lemon inverter just did nothing. Customer support is not very helpful and the lines are always long before speaking with anyone especially on a Monday. The technician looked at the system and said they didn't have that inverter in stock so it will be another 2 weeks to order and then probably another 4 weeks or more to get on the schedule to install the new inverter. We knew the inverter was probably bad 7 weeks ago. It makes no sense why they didn't have a spare one in stock or replace it with a new one at the time of my appointment. Avoid Tesla Solar at all costs. The panels are great, but the inverter and customer service/support have to be the worst in the country. If I could remove the entire system and go with someone else, I would in a minute. Try Net Zero Solar if available in your area. Net Zero Solar really cares about their customers, provide support within a week and have excellent support.

I placed my first Tesla Solar application on 06-12-2022. Within few days design team provided proposed panels design for approval. Design was based on old satellite imaginary of my house and was completely unacceptable because we did recent remodeling. I contacted Tesla Solar Project advisor and explain him all. He said (quote!): "that Tesla will fly satellite over my house to make a new images tomorrow or day after tomorrow". On 06-22-22 I got cancellation email that they are not able to complete the installation at this time. I tried to reach out to team for explanation but did not receive any response.
On 08-09-22 I placed second order for panels and contacted Project Advisor right away. New project advisor helped me to upload my house new Design Drawings so Tesla Design team can work on a new house drawings instead of old imaginary... For a next few weeks I was going back and forward with Project advisors as design still was made over and over based on old satellite imaginary. On 08-30-22 I got another cancellation email. LOL.
On 08-31-22 I placed my third order for panels and went thru explanation process with project advisors gain. After a week of conversations with advisors some how on a Tesla Portal appeared image of my actual house…….. but it had only 2 panels from 18 on it. Any way they continued and moved to the next step to send real human for site assessment.
On 09-27-22 technician came out to the property to do assessment, his only question was why I only want 2 panels. After explaining to him that this is Tesla Design Team glitch and not my actual order he proceed with assessment. Took many picture dimensions and whatever needed else. Everything looks great clean and easy.
Within few days all permits pulled and Installation Scheduled on 10-06-2022.
On 10-06-2022 Crew came over and start installation. They had multiple stops and goes as Design was not matching roof layout and many other technical difficulties with calculations and so forth…. Completing about 75% of work at 4:30 team left to another project promising to return tomorrow. Sure they didn’t.
After few days I start contacting Tesla and asking wt is going on…. Team been rescheduled to 10-13-22, 11am to complete installation. Sure they didn’t. Around 1pm I start contacting Tesla again and complain. Finally team arrived after 3pm and continued installation till 8pm in complete dark. So they left without system test as there is no Sun to test it.
Patiently awaiting for few more days I contacted today again asking if Tesla Energy would like some how finish my installation process. No wonder I got another scheduled installation on 10-20-22 after 3pm.
My only hope now they will not be as usual late and cat meet some Sun!

The DC Optimizers failed after eight years. The Tesla tech came out and only repaired enough to produce some energy but did not repair back to full production. He said that it was a two man job and Tesla would have to return to finish the job. That was over four months ago. They will run you in circles, lying and cancelling, and just doing about everything that you can think of to avoid repairs. What they did was rig it so that they can say that it is producing and they no longer have to repair anything. Tesla has absolutely no integrity, and I can't speak to what service you will have when purchasing and installing, but I can tell you that once you are on the hook, you will be very sorry because when you need their service down the road and you will, they are gonna give you the dak-salami under the guise of customer service. I agree with the other reviewers that tell you to RUN the other way and do not do business with Tesla. The company should be looked at for fraud. Terrible, terrible company. BAD.

Worst customer service I've seen in US, I've solar panels which they are in charge of however when i called to report my outage they give me appointment after 40 days!! can anyone imagine?!!!
and when i called the customer care complaining and asking for sooner appointment guess what is their silly reply was when i'm telling them my system is down and you giving me appointment in 40!! .. YOU HAVE TO WAIT, YOU ARE NOT OUR ONLY CUSTOMER!! what on earth!!

I was like neither I to any other company who they send a tech within day or two if service is down!

My real surprise was when they sent their tech. after 40 days he came in yesterday and didn't replace the faulty part and said everything working fine! Today my system is down and i have to wait a month again to Tesla to send me other tech!!!

Keep away!

I bet you, if you call the sales they will meet you next day, but when you are down you have to wait 40 days as you are not our only customer!!! shame on you TELSA ENERGY

Install agreement signed 4/25/2022 for 4.8 kW rooftop solar system
Installation scheduled for 5/4/2022
Permission to Operate received from utility (LADWP) on 6/7/2022
System failed 8/18/2022, I was notified via the app
So we were producing for just over 2 months
Tesla was unable to get anyone on-site until 10/7/2022, nearly 2 months later.
They did repair it - I think they had to replace all the panel micro inverters…
So we were out of production for just under 2 months
Things worked with minimal production until 4/10
So we were in production for about 6 months
Then on 4/10 we stopped producing. I noticed in the app on 4/20 and created a customer support case.
I was told the first they could send anyone was June 30.
Even if they fix it the same day, this is a full 10 weeks from now.

To summarize, even IF they “fix” this system on 6/30, it will have been broken almost half the time we’ve owned it!

ABSOLUTE GARBAGE PRODUCTS AND HORRIBLY UNDER STAFFED REPAIR TEAMS
