I think for older children this salon is likely great but for children under 6 years old I have serious concerns. Apparently there is a no parent policy which is written in website. I missed that and sure other parents did as well. I obliged and left my kid there and I regretted it.

The no parent policy is worrisome because kids are unable to speak for themselves if a hairstyle is painful. I get that some parents would prefer a complete hairstyle even if it means a child cries the entire time. After all as black women we all had our heads pulled and edges burnt with hot combs so we have come to normalize this. But it’s not okay. I do not agree with painful hairstyles for the sake of beauty. Parents should be notified if a kid is crying continuously and is uncomfortable during a hairstyle. Or parents should be asked what the stylist should do in that event. My daughter felt that no one was listening to her. I came in to check on her and she was in tears. I ended up taking her home and not finishing the hairstyle. Everyone was very respectful about my decision, but I left thinking clear expectations need to be discussed on both sides when it comes to the entire experience. Lastly, leaving kids to wait alone in the waiting room is a liability waiting room happen. something May not have happened yet, but surely it will. This salon has been operational for years and clearly has good reviews however our experience here left me worried for other children under the age of 6. As a parent I implore you to ask questions before choosing to take your young child here. I think for the older kids this salon likely is perfect.

They deliver on the styles requested most of the time, however they take entirely too long. It took almost 4 hours for my daughter to get natural braids. Last time, it took about the same amount of time for her to get her hair pressed. Also, I walked in to check on her & she was in tears. The stylist didn’t even notice until I said something.

I wish they would improve their timing, because they are talented stylists. The sad part is you shouldn’t have to block out 3 or more hours for natural braids. When I first started bringing my daughter here, Ms. Olivia had her in and out in two hours.

My daughter has been going to this hair salon for a year. My daughter's hair always comes out fabulous. I do not have any serious complaints and will continue to use their service.

We love Tenderheadz (the first location that is, as we had a horrible experience at their second location) and have used them on and off for years with my 10 year old. A couple months back we brought my 8 year old in to finally have her hair done at the salon, as I have been doing her hair since she was born. She got box braids which came out amazing and my daughter loved them and seemed to do well especially being tender headed. The next appointment we scheduled a take down and a new braid appointment. We were told at the appointment that they didn’t recommend rebraiding her because the braids were just coming down and they felt her scalp needed to breathe. So they recommended a deep conditioning and a silk press. My daughter never had one before and my oldest has had them done before at this salon years prior with no issue, so I agreed. Her hair looked amazing afterwards. She kept her silk press for about 5 days and when we washed her hair she had extreme damage to her hair. Half of her hair stays straight and her curl pattern is completely different. Even when it’s dry it looks stringy. She is devastated and so am I. We have been trying for months to get the curl pattern to return to no luck. I am so mad at myself for ever letting her get a silk press.

My son has been seeing Karizma for a little over two years and we absolutely love her! She’s quick, efficient, and always does the style(s) that he wants. I don’t know the lady’s name that I believe is the owner and the lady that usually sits at the front desk but they are always so nice and accommodating. TenderHeadz’s is truly a gem.

I absolutely love this kids salon. Tiffany has been doing my daughter's hair for about 3 years now & all I can say is, I've never been disappointed. The staff is very professional & welcoming, the shop is always clean, the prices are affordable, & the service is top notch. Anyone looking for a kids salon in the south Atlanta area should definitely give them a try. You won't be disappointed & neither will your little Princess! 😊
