Horrible they hang up on you!! 5 years of customership and we got $200-300 spike on bill for last 2 month as students so we call to inquire but instead of helping they start spewing technical jargon and hang up! Wtf 5 years or customership

For the past 2 months I'm unable to make payments directly. Last month my electricity was shut off I called in spent like an hour and a half on the phone giving them the exact same card information they're able to process payments over the phone but not via their website or app for me. Last month I was told they forward the information to their Tech Team and I wasn't allowed to speak to anyone directly Beyond customer care. This month when it happened again I went to the whole process all over again apparently they don't keep any information available to the current representative so I went through the whole process again to be stonewalled by this tag team. This Customer Care supervisor claims he will reach back to me personally with whatever the tech team responds with but I'm so frustrated with these call center employees and it's not even their fault.

As much as I appreciate the rate I get through Tara if this happens again next month I'm just going to have to cancel because I can't deal with any more of this frustration.

Customer service is very poor, they are quick to say anything to get you to enroll and after you enroll you find out the info they gave you is incorrect. Good luck getting hold of somebody to fix the issue they messed up on. Use another well know provider.

Do not use them .. they are a terrible company. 90 percent of the time you cant access your bill on line they are a complete rip off.
When you call you wont be speaking to someone in the US and will be on hold for over 1/2 hour. I call to have my service disconnected on the 4th and they turned it off 4 days early.. A complete Charlie foxtrot they will make your day 10x worse.

Unforgivable Negligence: Tara Energy left My Family in the Dark

I am beyond disappointed with Tara Energy. Due to a careless mistake by one of their representatives, my contract was canceled and power disconnected at the WRONG address. Despite calling immediately and being assured by a rep named Kereen that a reconnection order was sent around 4:45 PM, CenterPoint confirmed no such order was ever received. As a result, my family, along with international guests visiting the U.S. for the first time and spent the entire night without power in our home.

We went to bed in discomfort, embarrassed and frustrated, all because of the incompetence and complete lack of urgency from Tara Energy. My 8th-grade daughter had to prepare for her STAAR test in total darkness.

We’re on autopay, one month into a 3-month contract, in a new neighborhood—and this is the treatment we received? Absolutely unacceptable. There was no follow-up, no escalation, no accountability, no empathy and no sense of urgency.

Tara Energy failed us when we needed them most. I would strongly advise others to think twice before trusting them with something as essential as your home’s electricity.

Tara Energy has been overcharging us for the past three months, and we feel completely frustrated, betrayed, and taken advantage of. Our average bill used to be between $100-$200, but out of nowhere, it jumped to $460 and then an outrageous $566 in the last two months. How does that even make sense?

We’re students—we don’t have money to throw away like this. Every time we contact customer service, they refuse to find the root of the problem. All they say is that our “consumption is high,” but that explanation doesn’t add up. Our thermostat is steady at 69, we don’t touch the meter, and we make sure to turn off all the lights. So how is our bill suddenly this high? Instead of actually investigating the issue, they just throw around technical jargon, shift the blame, and refuse to help.

And the worst part? When we tried pushing for real answers, they hung up on us and made it so we couldn’t even call back. This is beyond unacceptable. Instead of helping their customers, they’re making it impossible to get answers. We need a real resolution, not excuses and empty explanations.

Never had such a bad experience with a company. They lured me in with a decent starting deal and then only a week later later started calling me EVERYDAY to get me to sign up for an 18 month plan at a 50% rate increase. Total scam. They tried to squeeze every penny out of me until the very end, even threatening me with a termination fee to get me to stay despite me being well within the bounds of the contract.

Started service with Tara energy a week or 2 ago. After signing up they call me daily for no apparent reason. I am a very busy person and I have never been harassed so much in my life. I signed up for your service and for the life of me I dont understand why a company would insist on bothering you... its getting weird at this point. The CALLS MUST STOP AT ALL HOURS OF THE DAY. Then top it off they ask you to refrain from yelling on the phone.
