SREC has great, reliable service. They also keep the costs low. When there is an infrequent outage, their communications and repair are excellent. If you contact their offices, no matter what the reason, they are friendly, helpful, and professional. I have been with them fo over 30 years and I am very satisfied with their services.

Great customer service. Came out 2 weeks in a row to remove tree limbs hanging on power lines. One was on my property. Appreciated their quick, courteous and efficient response.

Wow! Is all I have to say! Unfortunately where I live they are the only option but WOW are they horrible. They do not communicate with customers about outages, when you call they are rude as hell and give no information. It seems like they are always short crews to make repairs and the repairs take almost 4 times longer than anywhere else. I could live with no power for over 24 hours if they at least had the decency to communicate some kind of actual timeframe for restoration. Horrible customer service! Seriously do better!

Very grateful to have SREC as my utility provider. They work diligently during outages, are communicative through social media, and have live outage maps on their website. Also my bill is always very reasonable!

UPDATED 01/2025: Still the absolute worst company in the county. I sit updating this review in a house with no power, for the umpteenth time this year, while staring at an outage map that has said “predicted” with no crew assigned for close to an hour. This company is in serious need of an infrastructure update, or of being sold to a bigger company can do so. The amount of time it takes for outages to be repaired is completely abysmal, and the fact that the power goes out multiple times per quarter when the bigger power companies are able to keep their power on for their customers is despicable.

Absolute worst electric company in Sussex County. Power goes out if you look at the power line wrong, and then it takes much longer than the JCP&L customers in the next neighborhood over to come back on. They’re over priced, their customer service sucks, their website is slow, their outage map never even loads. If you’re moving here make sure to move somewhere their competitors service.

Ever since COVID they have gone backwards. They no longer share any information on outages even when they know it's going to be a multi-day outage during 90 degree days, restoration takes longer, try calling only to get stuck in a loop of "We are experiencing outages...", get e-mails bragging about those they got online with no information for those that are still offline other than they are bringing crews in from PA.

They used to be better than JCP&L. Not anymore. It's sad to see what they have become. Time for new leadership.

Breaks my heart to be not needing their service anymore. Moving to new location where it's a different electric company. SREC has been great to have the last 6 years. I will miss your service!!

It's a rural area with lots of trees so outages are expected during major storms. They get the lights back on fast and have a live outage map you can watch from your phone to keep track of the progress. Customer service reps aren't too friendly but everything is handled through the website so it's rare you'll ever call the office.

It's a cooperative which means all the homeowners own a piece of the company, we get a vote in the yearly elections for the company leadership, and any profits generated by the business are distributed back to the homeowners in a check at the end of the year. It's a great little Christmas gift that makes you realize that corporations suck and all companies should be cooperatives.
