Working for this company was good at first. I really liked Steve and everyone I worked with except for one person who worked in the office. I was happy working at this job despite being late often, Steve and I got along well. I had a bad experience when I worked a regular 8 hour shift and then rode/drove down to So Cal which took about 11 hours total. I had worked 19 hours the first day and worked at least an 8 hour day everyday up until that Friday and then rode/drove back to the location in Jackson another 19 hour drive. I get my paycheck and see that my original pay was changed to the California minimum wage of $16/hour while driving. I did not know this was legal but it turns out it is. I felt like I had been taken advantage of because this practice although legal, is highly unethical. Especially when it is not even mentioned in the employee hand book. I mentioned this and was basically asked to leave.

Sunny Cal installed our solar system in Jamestown, CA. It was excellent and professional. We were linked with PGE and had great tech support to monitor our usage and true-up. We sold the house (solar was a plus in selling). We moved and now have a large array and we are off the grid. We love it! They have continued to give us service. Steve came right out when there was a small problem. Alex came out when we had something not set correctly. Wonderful service from Becky, Dave, Alex, Bill and all others. All employees are service-minded! We're looking into wind power now.

Excellent Service!

I am building a custom home and living "off grid." Steve and his company made this possible. The system along with the batteries allow me to live completely off grid (with some generator support during persistently cloudy weather). Speaking of the generator, Sunny Cal set me up so my generator could run centrally and power everything during extremely cloudy weather. That means my RV (all the appliances) and my well pump 24/7. This was essential, since during the winter this year we weeks of no sunlight.

Alex went above and beyond. He was at my property quickly and there every day until the job was done. Supplies were sometimes hard to find, and due to the scope of the project, sometimes things lagged. But overall, I am beyond satisfied. Sunny Cal is going to connect me to the grid when PGE is ready. Thank you Sunny Cal solar, our system works beyond expectations.

It’s difficult to find anyone proficient in off-grid solar systems, but SunnyCal Solar is fantastic! Assistance from the manufacturer was virtually nonexistent, but luckily I found SunnyCal! Steve and his crew are super friendly and helpful and did great warranty repairs on some sungold inverters purchased elsewhere before I discovered SunnyCal, and helped find the root problem of the malfunction I was experiencing which turned out to be a defect in the wiring of the off grid house the solar system is on. Extremely knowledgeable and helpful, highly recommend!

Professional, knowledgeable, courteous. When we decided to go with solar, SunnyCal did everything from A to Z. The system was installed by a team of great guys who were efficient and left our property clean and neat. We had many questions as we learned to go solar and Steve and his crew never let us down. Someone came out to handle every issue; most of which were simply our inexperience with solar systems. And, let's not forget the office manager, Becky. She is a treasure. To this day SunnyCal is there when we need them. We recommend SunnyCal to everyone who is considering solar, or has solar questions.

I was having trouble getting Sunrun to replace my inverter, so emailed Sunnycalsolar for help. I was searching for an inverter and Steve at Sunnycalsolar helped me out and advised me that my old inverter manufacturer was no longer making residential inverters.
He had useful information and replied promptly to all of my emails. And thanks to his knowledge, I got Sunrun to do something!
If I have to buy anything for my solar system, it will be with Sunnycalsolar!!!

I was very satisfied with Steve's technical knowledge of equipment. I have an engineering background and immediately was assured he knew his products. Steve was not pushy at all when he arrived to look at the job.
The installation crew were excellent and very particular about all aspects of the ground mount array, and all the associated equipment. I was available the entire time and they consulted with me on a regular basis on different options and the best location to mount several components.
Becky in the office was outstanding in helping with all the hurdles I encountered with PG&E in getting into the NEM program during Covid.
