Used 300 dollars worth of gas the delivery charge was 400 and change. As soon as I can get another source of heat I will be making a change I can see having a delivery charge but not more then the fuel that was used, at first was a decent rate now it has gone out of control. Seems to be same as some other states wich had a law suit against them and they where forced to lower there prices, 750 dollars for one month of heat is crazy. Like I said I only used 300 dollars worth of gas.

I have no words for this stupidity. They came to repair a neighbor on the street at 7 in the morning. They started a construction site, a lot of noise, woke everyone up. Very rude employees and stupid managers who do this at 7 in the morning, it's not for nothing that you have 1 star

Summit is proposing a 23% increase to the gas costs, while LNG prices have gone down across the board. I emailed them and asked for the reason this change is occurring, and was told to contact MPUC. I then addressed that I am asking THEM why they’re proposing the change, at which the response was that “the supplier was increasing their price”.

When I directly asked what supplier this is, as next to no LNG distro costs are increasing, they told me to contact MPUC again. I clarified I was asking THEM, and was then told “Our suppliers change regularly as need increases, decreases, or market rate changes impact business. Summit Natural Gas does not publicly list its suppliers.”

It’s a copout answer. Indicate that you are doing this based off suppliers with the documentation, or cut the farce and admit we are being made to pay for your expansion plans to new customers. Summit has a terrible record across the nation, including their insane increase in Arkansas immediately after their merger. Sounds like it’s the same game here and they lack the ability to respond in a way that respects the consumer.

Do not sign up with Summit they are a nightmare to deal with and just as expensive as any other heat type! When I first signed up they said they could put the meter somewhere they couldn’t then they said they could run the pipe they couldn’t left my house looking like a gas station with huge metal columns around their huge ugly meter and a large black oil pipe running more then fifty feet around the outside of my house!!!!
On top of that they have the Worst customer service ever! I was trying to pay down a large heating bill from last winter and I was constantly given a different amount due when I would call in to pay the bill. Then when I would speak to a manager he would act like it was my fault for not understanding what was going on. What ever happened to the customer was always right? Dealing with this company has been one of the worst experiences of my life and wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy please if your thinking about signing up with them don’t! If your thinking that their cheaper than propane their not! If you think your helping the environment by getting natural gas your not Fraking or how they get the gas out of the ground is dangerously toxic and terribly environmentally hazardous look it up! Please believe there is nothing good that can come from dealing with this company!

What a joke the “owner” responds to my above complaint. Obviously, this is a stock response given to every complaint. When I was given misleading information by misinformed and poorly trained staff about how to help pay down my bill because it took me two hours to long to call them back so instead of paying down my bill they more than doubled it by demanding a 2,000 dollar deposit because of my being two hours late with a payment! I'm more than positive that if the so called “owner” reads this that they will not be “able” to retract the deposit demand. Which is the onlg way they could help because who among us has an extra two thousand dollars lying around? This deposit is on top of the demand to pay the more than two thousand dollar bill I was paying down but they now demand in full! Please please do not make the same mistake I did and get involved with this company! There are plenty of local propane gas companies! And Maine Natural Gas is getting bigger and better if you want to go the natural gas route but Shop local! Support Maine businesses! Stay away from Arkansaw Summit Gas!!

This form of heat was supposed to be cheaper then electricity and oil. My mother just paid over 700.00 dollars for one month. There's something definitely wrong with that picture. I believe that summit gas took advantage of so many people. This business should be ashamed of yourselves.

I'm currently trying to get a furnace installed next week. I had Summit show up with a crew to install the gas line and right after I started having water backed up in my basement. Hired a plumber to fix what I thought was a blockage in the drain and turns out he hit clay and sand. I'm out the money for the plumber and now I need to fight with Summit to get my pipe fixed. The town doesn't cover the pipe going to the sewer and I'm not going to have a new furnace installed in a basement that has backed up water. If I knew it was going to play out this way I wouldn't have even entertained the idea of having natural gas.

I rate this company based upon their responses to ratings on here. I have never seen canned answers used like this before. Blah baah...we appreciate our customers. Edit...see below. Ha scum

It would be nice to be able to talk to a customer service person, To navigate their answering computer is a shear nightmare!
