Just had Sugar Hollow install solar panels and batteries on our house post Hurricane Helene (less tree shade, but more sunlight now!). Everybody from start to finish was professional, friendly, and respectful, from the roof installers to the electrical guys to the people online holding my hand through all the paperwork. They also explained to me what was going on each step and how to use everything, all with a positive attitude. I already have recommended them to my neighbors and friends here!

I had a couple different companies come out and give quotes and opinions on the best setup for our roof. Sugar Hollow was competitive in the pricing and had a far superior setup. They worked hard at making sure we utilized the best parts of my roof whereas the other company was placing several panels in areas that made little sense and wasting some of the best real-estate I had on the roof.

I had to wait more time then desired to get the install started from signing the contract but I fully understand it was because of the high volume of new customers during the NC law change. Sugar Hollow made sure to keep up communications during this longer wait time and assured us they were training new staff to meet the new demands.

When they did come out for the install, everyone was awesome. Fantastic communication all around! Bright and smiling faces and it seemed that everyone was happy to be out here working! Seriously, they were great! When there was some questions/concerns about how to access a conduit in my attic that I had placed for our new construction house they spent as much time as was needed to formulate a plan to make sure we didn't have to penetrate our new metal roof and found the conduit. I supplied them with color matching marking pens for any scratches on the roof that were created and they happily used them to assure the roof lasts.

I'm super grateful we went with Sugar Hollow and I have already recommended them to multiple neighbors and friends!

Sugar Hollow did an excellent job with the installation on my mom’s house in early March. So far she has been very pleased with her Enphase system. From John to Sam to Aaron to Katti and all of the other team members as well, were easy and pleasant to deal with, knowledgeable, professional, and responsive. The process went relatively smoothly and they did a nice job installing everything and cleaning up.

They also installed a SolarEdge system on my house back in 2021 and it has been working out well for me. They were a big help with the Duke rebate process and also connected me with a great electrician to relocate my meter to a more inconspicuous spot.

Both my mom and I hope to install battery backups at some point and plan to use Sugar Hollow for that.

I recommended Sugar Hollow to my mom based on my experience and she now highly recommends them as well!

The Sugar Hollow Solar team is extensive and quick to respond to questions or concerns. They found the best way to route cables and mount equipment. On my 3 story home in tight quarters they quickly install panels (as in 3 days) on the roof using a manlift despite the constraint of high voltage lines. After Hurricane Helene wrecked the city of Asheville, the city inspectors approved the installation electronically and Duke Power authorized connection and my system provided backup power to my home. As promised and registered, Duke provided monthly incentives for purchasing my power, and an additional $9000 to offset the cost, with additional tax credits on federal taxes of an additional large sum, cutting final cost to nearly 1/3 of the initial outlay. I highly recommend their services.

Great experience with Sugar Hollow Solar. Very knowledgeable, courteous and professional people. Installed a solar system and battery backup system with the Tesla powerwall3. A little delay with scheduling the Mountain Electric Cooperative electric company but overall I highly recommend the Sugar Hollow Solar.

Customer service was excellent. Backup power system for an 1800 square foot house in cedar mountain. We had to work through Covid related delays for hardware. Inverter failure covered under a 10 year warranty. As example I got a call from the office. Doug we noticed your system is not putting out enough energy based on weather conditions, we are sending a technician out. New inverter installed in 3 days. No cost, under warranty. Roof install was quick and done correctly according to a well known roofing companies inspection. Sales representative was very knowledgeable concerning available product options. Computer based design was accurate and the system performed for 3 years as advertised. Can’t say enough about there team. If you are considering a solar system I recommend Sugar Hollow in Ashville NC

Update: I added a star because unfortunately it took making this review to get a manager involved who called me and was able to get me on the schedule for the initial appointment I was given and the technician got it fixed for me. The technicians are great people. Not their fault that the office has issues.
But the manager fixed the appointment and get it scheduled. If I had just waited on the scheduler I would just now be another month out since it took a month to get the needed part.
Also had to deal with her giving me a guilt trip over she was trying her best, and it wasn't her fault song and dance.
Good thing is they at least have competent managers that can sort out issues.
The first appointment they had was a month out. Well, I just get a message 2 weeks out that "something came up." Not sure what came up 2 weeks in the future, but the earlier they would reschedule me was another month out from there. Absolutely unacceptable to move someone that far.
Given the new laws going into effect my system is now going to cost me a fortune and is not remotely going to be beneficial after 2027.
I would highly recommend against anyone going solar at all.
