Vegan-friendly! We made a quick stop to grab a bottle of wine and something sweet, and OMG we’re surprised by vegan desserts which is RARE!!! They also have vegan lentil curry with coconut milk which is super delicious, our cashier told us. We haven’t had a chance to explore the store more but we will 10000000% back when in the area!

This is a real Independent natural food grocery store. It’s packed with fresh local organic specialty items. Very nice assortment of fresh fruits & veggies Grocery and produce. Great location to buy bulk items for huts, grains, spices, teas, coffee.

Nice helpful staff and smoothie and easy check out. Bring your own bags and get a token to donate to a cause as you leave.

What I love about Staff of life is that it's a nice healthy extension of my home. Where I find everything healthy I need for my home, they have every product you can think of. And if you want to have a nice time, the outdoor cafe is another option in the market. And the most important thing is the store staff. Customer service is reflected with the human quality that Nina shows, always attentive and always with a smile, thank you very much for all the attention.

I love this place. The staff are all very welcoming and down to earth. The Bakery can be dangerous 😋 I LOVE the coconut macaroons BUT recently discovered their Chocolate Muffin 😋😍 and wanted to find and hug the 👩‍🍳 Chef if I could lol. Definitely 5 Stars, I could go on and on about EVERY department, but I'd only be rambling.

Take some time to stop by, you will have a great experience as well. I PROMISE you, they have something for everyone ❣️

Hairlip Louie just had to come all the way down to Santa Cruz, and you know why....to get his board waxed!
The Lip asked me to come with him incase of trouble, and I agreed with one provision, that he buy lunch at the Staff of Life Restaurant, they make an amazing sandwich. Well, he pulled up in front of the Happy Time Massage Parlor, and that's when I realized he didn't even bring his surfboard, and he's getting something other than a surfboard waxed. I had a good laugh because 7 minutes later we were on our way to the Staff of Life for some amazing sandwiches. ☆☆☆☆☆

This is a wonderful store but I hesitate to call it a store... It's more of an cultural experience and a lovely one at that! You can purchase everything you need and have an enjoyable time doing it! Both the staff and your fellow customers are friendly, pleasant, and knowledgeable! See a product you've never used? A staff member well explain it to you and the person shipping next to you will give you a recipe or a tip! This place is like going to the old country store where you knew everybody your while life. Only here it's strange who are helpful and friendly. If you need groceries, go there, if you need produce, go there, if you need health and beauty products, go there, if you need a hug, go there. It's that kind of place. Even if you don't need anything, go there.
It smells as wonderful as it looks. There is a coffee shop in the front. This store is clean, well stocked, beautifully displayed, and has plenty of knowledgeable, helpful staff. The produce is lovely. The bulk food section is plentiful. The health and beauty department carries all the best natural beauty products and cosmetics and has a full time manager who is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. They carry everything from Burt's Bees to Annemarie Borland! I had a great time there. Prices are fair and comparable to other grocery stores. Go, you'll never shop at Safeway again.
