The solar system installation process was an unbelievable experience. Sphere Solar and Edwin Wanji went above and beyond on our project. We asked for their help developing a solar microgrid for an urban farm. The system that Sphere Solar put down was beyond our expectations. Not only did the whole team help walk us through the process of installation, but they also worked with enthusiasm. We plan to energize the farm through the solar energy and storage system. Our goal is to use the energy to power some low-energy equipment such as the water irrigation system fans for a greenhouse which includes our automated robotic gardener, called the FarmBot.

Edwin Wanji, the owner of the company came down himself and he not only installed quality equipment and gear, but also helped teach our community about how it works. Providing so much more than a system, Edwin provided solar education to our community. Edwin taught that the system components were sourced locally in the US. Our solar system was made up of six, 480 watts solar panels and came from the company Hawah Q which is US-based. We learned that the inverter is a solar arc inverter that comes from a veteran-owned and operated US-based company. The battery, which is a home grid system, was also US sourced.

We value locally sourced equipment providers who are integral to the work that we do. We seek to create a local economy and support our local manufacturers. As an urban garden, this also matches what we seek to do in our operations of getting communities to be more sustainable. We want communities to understand their own power and that means their power to grow food and the power to energize their lights. We were even able to throw a big event at the garden where all the musicians and vendors utilized the energy from our new solar system. So we no longer had to use any gas generators and there were no loud engines going during our event.

I had Sphere Solar do an install for me 5 years ago. They were pretty quick and did a decent job. I reported a warranty claim, and midway they stopped responding to me because of some communication handoff snafu, but they were quick to resolve the issue once they noticed my review. Details below:

My combiner box was showing an error signal and was not able to connect to the wifi. Talking with enphase they thought it was a loose neutral and told me to call Sphere Solar to send a technician out soon since my warranty expired next month.

I gave Sphere Solar a call and they picked up, when I told them what enphase said they said they would get back to me about scheduling the technician. Suprised they couldn't schedule right away.

A week later, they hadn't called me, I tried calling almost every day, left multiple voice mails, and sent a few emails but they never responded or picked up the phone.

After posting the review, they reached out to me. Sounds like the person responsible for the residential customer service was out of office and the communication lines didn't get transferred to another person. Glad that they are fixing that now.

Afterwards they were prompt about scheduling the eletrician to come out and they replaced the unit under warranty.

Edwin, Nigel, Peter, and the team each conducted themselves and their work in a professionally and polite manner. We did have some back and forth with inspections but Edwin and the team were right there to work through it, keeping us in the loop. My rating if I could set it would be more like a 4.5 with that .5 just because of the back and forth with inspections. We ended up missing some prime days of sun light due to it. The inspector was asking for things the team had never seen before but made sense. Example: chicken wire under the panels so kids don't play with the cables, which where zipped tied to the panels and ground mount. Either way our system is up and running and I couldn't be happier with the results. Even on a good fall day we produce much more than we consume. Almost 10kwh more a day. Will definitely reach back out to Edwin and the team in the future when we look to get an electric vehicle charger installed and potentially iron flow or liquid metal battery backup. If they become available for residential use.

This is a professional firm and a very ethical company. Although we had some small hiccups on the start date and project plan, they delivered a fantastic installation (we did 28 solar panels+ batteries) with top notch quality. The technical crew was stellar and the project was immediately approved by the city. As a homeowner, we need more of these kind of companies that over deliver! Thank you guys.

An average home uses about 12,000kwh annually. But our all-electric home is using over 21,000kwh per year, and the cost just keeps going up. We've replaced our heat-pump, water heater, re-sealed our ducts and re-insulated, but our electric bill still keeps going up. Fortunately our state actually encourages the production of green energy through "production" incentives. Federal tax laws also supports green energy productions in the form of tax credits. Sphere Solar designed a system for us to maximize the incentives while lowering our electric bill. In just two months we've already produced nearly 4,000kwh, and we've "banked" (net metering) nearly 2,000kwh. We've already offset 3.3 tons of greenhouse gas emissions with clean green energy. We expect the system will actually pay for itself in 7.5 years, even with the power rates going up each year. Its hard to describe how satisfying it is to watch your power meter spin backwards.

My family and I selected Sphere Solar Energy to design, install, and support a 10kW rooftop solar energy system for our North Seattle home. Sphere is hands down the best residential contractor I have ever worked with in any trade, and I have worked with a variety of contractors across Washington state and Montana. Edwin and his team understand the local, state, and federal incentives and building codes that apply to solar energy systems, their system design and component selection is excellent, their estimates of costs and savings are accurate, and their system installation is timely and of high quality. Additionally, their logistics and project management are very high quality and they proactively manage their projects across each phase of the process. Sphere has been extremely responsive to our requests for system support and every employee we encountered, particularly our project manager Wendy and lead installer Gene, were very knowledgeable and able to work through the issues that inevitably come up during any project. Now that our system has been up and running, my family and I are very satisfied with the system's performance and we can't recommend Sphere highly enough. Sphere Solar Energy completed our solar installation in December 2019 and we couldn't be more pleased with the installation. The panels have been working excellently and have been producing at or above the estimated rates in the initial estimations.

The installation was done quickly and professionally and Edwin and his team were communicative and responsive to our questions and input, and ensured that the installation was aesthetically pleasing (taking care with conduit and panel placement, etc.). Despite a rainy December they were diligent and able to complete the installation for a 2019 city inspection and consequently in time for the 2019 tax credit.

We chose Sphere Solar Energy on the recommendation of a friend and we would gladly recommend them for anyone else looking into a solar installation.
