Get notifications early before the renewal is up. We are very pleased to be and continue to be customers. We would definitely recommend Spark-energy to anyone needing a new provider.

0/10 - DO NOT RECOMMEND SPARK ENERGY!! My experience with Spark Energy has been very frustrating. Over the past three months (Dec-Feb, which are typically my cheapest months for electricity), I've been paying over $200 per month for electricity in a small 1-bedroom apartment. This is especially surprising given that it’s the time of year when A/C isn’t needed, and it doesn’t usually get cold enough to use the heater, so my energy usage is low.

When I reached out to their customer service to explain that I’m a single-income household and simply cannot afford this bill, they told me I was already on the “lowest rate possible at this time” (I highly doubt that) and that there was nothing they could do to help. I felt completely unsupported. Their so-called “customer care” department is a complete joke—they don’t seem to care at all about their customers and appear solely focused on profiting from hardworking people.

I’m not someone who typically writes negative reviews, but this situation is outrageous. I’m sharing my experience in hopes of warning others—this company is taking advantage of people, and I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone, not even my worst enemy.

We have been a customer of Spark Energy for 10 years. There has never been an issue with their billing, which is paperless. We receive a notification when our current contract is up for renewal. I do research before renewing, and the Spark Energy rates are fair and very competetive. I would definitely recommend Spark Energy.

Spark Energy was our Providor of Last Resort, and we are very pleased with them which their customer service personnel quickly resolved. Their billing has been very accuratem timely, and fair. i see no reason whatsoever to even think about changing.

Spark Energy is a disaster (at least when trying to register for electricity in my state). The customer service people do not seem to be able to enroll customers through their system and their online system doesn't function. They were offering one of the best rate packages in my state. I attempted to enroll with them in early October and when I checked 1 month later with my electric distribution co., the enrollment hadn't gone through and Spark had no record of it. I then attempted again in early November and even though I was given a confirmation # over the phone as well as receiving an email with my account #, when I checked in Dec. the enrollment hadn't gone through and they had no record of it. By then the rates had gone up and they wouldn't honor the rate that they had previously enrolled me for 2x. The company is a CLOWN SHOW!!!! I then enrolled with a different electricity supplier!

Now, 3 months after having initially having tried to enroll with them and ultimately telling them to forget about it, I received a letter from them telling me that I would be switched to them as of my next meter reading. After speaking with my utility company as well as the other supplier, it looks as though my service with Spark already went active 3 weeks ago and that kicked me off of my current supplier who I just started with one month ago.

I have never in my life seen such confusion and incompetence as I have had to deal with with Spark. It's a wonder to me that they actually stay in business!!!

I have been a Spark Energy Customer since 2008 and I have never had an issue with my electricity! Customer Service is on the spot and resolves or assist you with any questions immediately. I can hightly recommend this energy company if you are looking to change your enegery provider!

I have been a spark customer for more than 6 years. Billing is consistent and reliable. I am able to setup auto pay and paperless billing. I haven’t had an issue with service. I would definitely recommend Spark to anyone looking for a new provider.

Energy choice in Maryland has made a big difference in the cost of electricity. Spark's rates are the lowest for a 12 month contract. Making the transition to Spark was very easy. Hopefully when my plan expires, Spark will offer me a competitive rate. Ken
