I like getting my power from SMUD, however I don’t understand the inflammatory emails that are sent warning customers that there projected energy costs are essentially skyrocketing , given that I have their budget billing service and my power bill is always the same, if not lower. Calls to SMUD are met with a non answer from their representative who has said, “ it must be a mistake.” If it was a mistake, why is my friend getting the exact same email? We are both on budget billing. In fact, I have a medical discount, yet no one can explain how my discount works. Yes, rates are going up, but I believe that SMUD could do a better job of explaining why they are increasing our bills, as opposed to sending emails that are essentially nonsense

Do not take the SMUD rebate for the heat pump unit I used to have gas. The AC works great but come winter time. The furnace just blows 78° eight hours a day to keep it at 69°. My bill is double what it used to be from the year before It’s a joke.

I put a 3 in case I am not understanding correctly. In march 2024 my stove/oven went out ( still unplugged) in April washer broke tossed it as well as the dryer ( both electric) I while I had it did much laundry. As well as my moms and my daughter would come do hers and my son. Gas water heater I use a small air fryer to cook sometimes a small microwave popcorn. LED lights new energy efficient door and windows. Yet smud continues to insist I am using more power than last year. Heat (gas) is not used or needed as before it ran all the time until new windows/door. Ac the same. I turned the breaker off for 4 days once. Still more energy used than last year or prior months. I never leave lights on. I unplug unused appliances. No large appliances at all. Hot water use down as no hot wash. And shower at most 5 min. I call but no answer to why. No explanation. Oh nov 2023-march 2024 my heat was not working no change in my energy use. This is from my understanding. Hope to get answers one day. Oh do all my cooking before prime expensive times. I have a fridge.

Where in the world did you find Bryan! Never in my life have I ever walked out of a building and felt like I just won a million bucks. I'm at the smud department and you would think I was at the lottery center. What in the world! His professionalism his mannerism. Wishing me Merry Christmas like.....It just felt like I was in a live commercial of "what right looks like." The man is and was brilliant! In all my life I have never felt so good and like Bryan just had everything under control. Smooth and flawless. Customer service at an all time high. When they say you run into people that can took your mood up or down and that energy can be felt. I have now experienced what it felt like to walk up to someone and my energy immediately become positively boosted by just being around them!

SMUD came out this morning to change our power pole and they were on time, professional, and had them power back on before they promised. They had a huge crew, closed down a nearby street to manage the work site. The crew members that were on site were competent, polite, and professional! They went about their duties and cleaned up our yard before they left.

Why do you stop the online system for reapplying for Eaper? It causes us to not be as prompt with paperwork. If your upgrading it why can't you have the original working still in the meantime so people can still use it while you it? And why does it take you so long to do it? Weeks? Smud IT department you need to do a better job than that! Your leaving your loyal customers waiting. That's bad business here!

$25 “fixed infastructure fee” regardless of size of your home, this fee goes toward technicians coming out and maintenance, my building alone pays over $400 a month on this fee alone yet we are constantly out of power and wait days for a tech to come out. This bill is incredibly high for a very small studio.

I live on 22nd Street in Midtown Sacramento. For several weeks now there has been construction on our street which has been extremely disruptive, and we were given little to no notice of the work (only two days before with a tag on the door, thanks) and no information as to what was happening or how it would effect our neighborhood. Our street is torn-up and there seems no end to this disruptive construction. Today is Thursday our thrash pick-up day and the workers have parked all along our street between our trash cans. We live here and MUST move our cars for the trash or get a ticket so it’s very upsetting when you have construction going on for several weeks blocking your street and driveway and your trash pick-up.

We are SUMD customers only because we have no other choice, but this construction is wearing me thin. When will this work be completed? People do work from home now and this is very disruptive.
