I regret choosing Smart Green for our solar installation. From the very beginning, the experience was a nightmare. The entire process dragged on for six months, with little to no communication about what was happening. Random workers would show up at our house unannounced, which was both frustrating and unprofessional.

The sales rep assured us that our system would offset 100% of our electricity usage, but in reality, it only covers about 60%. When we reached out about this issue, we were told there would be an annual review to ensure we were getting what we paid for. However, that turned out to be another empty promise. The company is nearly impossible to reach—only responding to emails with vague, generic answers that don’t address our concerns.

If you’re considering going solar, I highly recommend looking elsewhere. Smart Green overpromises, underdelivers, and then avoids accountability. Save yourself the headache and choose a company that values its customers.

A neighbor had an install done by smart green. It is a great install with a Tesla power wall backup.
I will NOT be going with this company based on all the negative reviews now. Too bad their customer service is so poor.
I’ll probably go with Tesla direct and just be patient.

I used to work for them at the Dedham office which is closed now. They’re the worst company in the Solar business, they will lie to potential customers, specially the ones with absolutely zero knowledge in the field. One of my family members went solar with them because of me and till this day she still paying electricity and more than she was paying before. Since after the installation, no one came by to inspect or to check to see if everything was working properly. We called several times for help and no answer! On my side this is the worst job I ever had, underpaid for sure! They have canvassers knocking on doors whatever the weather condition is for only $400 after tax, they promised me I’d make a lot of money if I get someone to sign up and go solar. Well guess what the extra money was only $15-$30, while the closer will just drive their car to the appointment and sign the customer up for solar all because the canvasser did all the work convincing them and making nothing out of the sale!

I have nothing short of terrific experience with Smart Green Solar (SGS). They have been terrific from sales, to install, to customer service, to honoring their guarantees, and delivering a great product & experience.
The sale process was great. I requested a free consult, met with Devan who was friendly, professional, and to the point. He presented my plan/offer with transparent pricing. He completed the site survey and got one of his landscapers to move a large shrub to a different area of my property at no cost so that I can past town inspection.
Next, I contacted Hannah who is really the heart and soul of the experience at SGS. She helped adjust my plan twice to fit my budget and energy needs. She walked me step by step through the contract & financing. She answered all my questions including install timeline, warranty, tax forms, reimbursements, etc. She also helped coordinate things in every step of the journey. She is nothing short of excellent & I have nothing by AMAZING words to express. She was always responsive during every phase: sales, planning, install, inspection, activation, reimbursements, etc. She even responded to a call at 6pm on a Saturday while she was at work function and while away on vacation.
Jamie coordinated my install, and I had my panels installed within 6 weeks of signing contract. The install was efficient, professional and clean. The also did interior wiring for me. They addressed any questions and concerns I had quickly. One of my panels seemed a little off-center (very minimal). They came next day to adjust to my desired perfection. My panels went through winter and spring, snow, wind, and rain with no issues and no leaks. Great install. They passed town building and electric inspections as well as those by utility company.
Overall, aside from a quality product with a 25-year warranty backed by SGS and by the panel manufacturer, and a top of the line customer service, SGS separates itself from the competition by being local, all-inclusive (sales, install, roofing, electric, landscaping, activation, maintenance etc.), and by providing several guarantees. First is that they will reimburse your solar payments until you’re activated. I can attest I got 3 solar payments reimbursed while waiting for necessary steps to get my system activated. The second is a production guarantee. If you do not produce the amount for the kWh your system is contracted to produce in 1 year, SGS will install additional panels to get you there for free. Lastly is a price match guarantee. Their prices are competitive to other solar companies.

I represented a buyer on a purchase of a house that already had the solar panels installed. Seller paid off the balance and since then we have not been able to contact a human being to get this new solar panels owners to understand their system. We have sent emails, text to a WhatsApp number that is on the Facebook page, calls, etc and nothing yet and it's been more than 6 months

I actually give it no stars but google won’t let me do that. Smart green installed our system a little over a year ago. They under designed the system. After 6 months of being in service we noticed our electric was very high one month. We realized the system had a problem. They did send a tech out and he repaired the issue. They promised us a refund check for two months of payments to cover the electric bill. That was 6 months ago we still haven’t received a check. We have made multiple attempts to reachout to the company and don’t get a return call. We still get an electric bill as they under designed the system. I would not recommend this company at all. They have Terrible customer service.

These guys are the real deal. The whole experience was positive - from the sales person, to the installers, and even the support staff keeping me updated every step of the way. The sales guy, Andrew Barry, is a genius. I consulted other solar companies in my area and they tried to push more panels than I needed. Andrew seemed honest and gave me the best deal possible. The quality of the work was professional and the customer service is attentive. The company worked with me to address every little concerned I had. I am very glad I went with Smart Green Solar. I would highy recommend this company.

I am waiting for my solar panels to
be turned on and Smart Green told me I would be reimbursed for GoodLeap their service on provider until the service is truene on.

I have called the sales rep, the company line and sent many emails and no one is getting back to me. I would love to be an active solar customer but I just have panels on my house that bill me each month and zero production.

This has turned from something I was very excited about (telling all my friends about it) into a major disappointment. They needs to take accountability for the error and make things right but they don't answer phone calls.

Sales guy replies but it sounds like it's totally out of his hands.

I'll update my review if they make this right but so far I wouldn't even say this deserves a star. I may have to report them to the BBB and get a lawyer involved but I'd rather things get worked out. At this point it's pretty pricey.
