Silver Sun Solar installed a 19kw completely off grid system in our home including Sol-Ark inverters and homegrid batteries. Brian and his team were and continue to be extremely responsive and knowledgeable about a complex installation such as this, including hooking up to a 12kw generator.

We've had our panels for 5 years now and we love them. Our electric bill is $33/month only because the power company charges us an infrastructure fee. This year our inverter failed, and it was still under warranty, so Silver Sun replaced it for free! Everyone at Silver Sun was so nice and easy to talk to, it was a painless process.

I purchased a system through my roofer JA Edwards and Silver Sun was the contracting company. Duringbthe hurricane a panel flew off. Wanting to have one of theirctechs validate the install as it was a 3 panel not connected to the array. It blewxoff as nobody else had issues with their panels in the storm. Knowing it would not be under warranty was looking to pay for 1 panel and get it connected properly.

Once I talked to the office they told me they cannot service me due to roofer. It is terrible buisinesd when folks cannot help after a storm due to petty issues.

I looked at several options for solar on my house in Red Hook. Even though Silver Sun was more expensive, I could see that they are far superior to their competition. Their installation, which had some challenges, exceeded my expectations. They even had my water heater upgraded and had a shed built for my batteries/inverter. I have now been tested by a cat 1 hurricane and the solar came through without a wimper. My calls about questions have been returned quickly and professionally.
I only wish they were working in Virginia! I would use them to put solar on my stateside property.
As a practicing physician for 32 years, I know quality when I see it. I recommend them without reservation.

We have had an older solar system from a company that went out of business and needed it removed to get a new roof and then replaced after the roof was complete. We contacted several companies and found Silver Sun Solar to be the most credible. They were very informative and even replaced our old outdated anchors for a better seal on our new roof. Our county now required a new permit to do this and Silver Sun Solar did all the leg work for this. It made it so simple and easy on us. I had Silver Sun Solar install an 8.3 Kw system and I have been happy with it for several years. However, last summer I had two panels go out and I am still trying to get them repaired. I believe the panels themselves are producing but the controller may have failed. I contacted Silver Sun and they sent me to APsystems, who sent me back. I have repeatedly contacted both for several months and opened at least on possibly two tickets with APsystems which Silver Sun required.
But I still have not been contacted for a visit. I am very disappointed that I am having to post a negative preview that they now have earned just to get a (maybe) response. At this point I would not recommend them.

This company was great to have the system set up BUT they do not support once installed. Our water heater has been leaking over a week and noone will respond about service. We have tried online chat, multiple emails, multiple phone numbers and even went back to our original consultant and NOONE will help.

I cannot say enough good things about Brian and his team at Silver Sun!! If you are looking for the cheapest system, they may not be your best option, but if you want a reliable, effective, efficient system installed by people that do it the right way without shortcuts, then this is the team you should use!!! They are extremely knowledgeable in their field and will work with you to setup the system you need not what they are supposed to be selling this week. If you ever have a problem, you can be sure that this team will be responsive. They installed the system on my new home and not only does it function as designed, but they took care to make sure it looked clean and finished inside and out. Please call them and give them a chance to earn your business… at the very least you will walk away as a more informed consumer and most likely a customer.

August 2025 UPDATE: I called Brian and had him install nearly 60kw of battery backup to my system. Brian was all over it and did another amazing job getting it installed and running smoothly. Looking forward to no longer worrying about power outages. I continue to believe that you’ll find no one more knowledgeable in the industry but he is always a phone call away. If you are thinking solar… give them a chance and don’t take the bait from the guys going door to door selling cheap crap!
