I was nervous with creating my new account with Riverland and didn't want to mess anything up. I had a few questions on how to get things going. I got a very speedy and professional reply from Sarah that answered all my questions! She made me feel comfortable and I will for sure reach out with any questions I have in the future! What an awful establishment! Not only are they 3 times as expensive as Xcel is, they have terrible policies. I called today to let them know I've changed banks and would like to pay my bill ahead of time or change auto pay accounts so they do not draw off a closed account. They explained there was nothing they can do and I'd have to update next month and will receive a $25 fee for the charge coming back to them. I work for a bank, this is not true. They can definitely stop payment. Asked if the $25 charge could be waved since I'm clearly calling trying to pay or switch accounts BEFORE my due date but was rejected. Like are you serious What a joke. If I ever leave Onalaska -- it would be a blessing to stop dealing with this over priced monopoly but for now they'll take my money - a lot of it

Had to get ahold of them about a power outage in my area. Got ahold of a rep who was horribly rude. She took my contact info and said a manager would contact me. Never returned my call. My husband called and he got the same response 3 times from 3 different people. We were never called back. We had to yell and scream for them to turn our power back on and then got a bill for a reconnection fee for a problem with their equipment! When we tried to challenge the fee they said that we had been so rude to them they would not remove it. Horrible horrible horrible.

It's over 90 degrees outside and the power goes out. Ok. Let's call Riverland and get this fixed. A quick Google search gives me the number. Huh. I call and just get a message that the cell phone number I am trying to reach is not currently available.

Ok. Lets check my last bill for a number. Cool. It has three numbers to call. The first number is the one I just tried. I call the second number and get the same message about not being available. I call the third number and get some automated message with no option to speak with someone or report an outage.

I have used Xcel for most of my life and, though there have been issues here and there, I have never had a problem contacting them or getting things fixed in a timely manner. I moved to my current home just over a month ago and now I pay a higher price for energy and receive no customer service when there is an issue.

This is probably the poorest run company our area has and yet so many of us are forced into doing business with them. So many random outages and the local office is a complete mess when it comes to organization. You speak to one person to give you one answer and the next person tells you something completely different, emails and bills are not sent when they should be but then when you do get emails and bills they were sent in error giving you the wrong information. No one you speak with will give you the same answer, they all seem miserable and have no motivation on doing their jobs proficiently. If you’re house hunting, make sure you stay far away from the zone that forces you to give them your business. I am absolutely 100% positive if they did not have a contract with the city, they would have no business here and for good reason.

Riverland rutted up my yard replacing a telephone pole. I was not happy with repair originally , still had ruts.I called customer service slightly upset she assured me it would get taken care of. Thanks after returning they did a fantastic job. Fairly quickly too. Customer service was great 👍

Supposedly they won a lawsuit awarding it's members in that aspect curious as to why I don't see it on my bill as a credit towards my current bill this is April 16th most people that got anything received it by mail on the 15th lot of people that have power with this company all got there's so I'm curious to where mine went to look at every bill don't see any amount credited due to judgement . I would not say it is the worse outfit to deal with Xcel energy is by far the worse why I am glad I don't live in La Crosse or the City of Onalaska. I could imagine what 200 or more in a bill would be like a month during the summer months running air my bill is usually always low. Just when you fall behind due to hardships that do happen it is hard to get people that work for companies like this to understand that they expect that money to be there right and then.

Way more expensive than Xcel and since they have a a monopoly, they could care less about this review. Now bring the power back from your planed 2 1/2 hour outage that is going on 4 1/2 hours now!
