I bought my Rheem electric water heater 3 years ago at Home Depot and it's working fine. I had one problem about 1 year after installation and the customer support at Rheem was great. (Make sure you register your product). They knew exactly what the problem was and sent me the part I needed with instruction instructions to put it in, and it worked out perfectly. When we installed it, as a homeowner my city allows us to run are own electrical, so I did that, and I had a plumber do the piping. It couldn't have gone smoother. I'd give them 5 stars, but it was a little disappointing that I needed to replace the part in it only after a year. Other than that, I'm very happy with it.

Spent over $2,500 on a 75 gallon Rheem water heater, including installation, from Home Depot. Just over 2 years later, it stops working. Got it fixed through the warranty. 6 months later, stops working again. They ship out a part we don’t need. Technicians and plumbers tell me these Rheem products are problematic and don’t work well in residential. Doing research we discovered that there are many out there with similar problems. We got a Bradford White to replace it. Will never buy a Rheem again.

Really? This is customer service in 2025?
They are hiring "work from home" reps that are too busy to be bothered. Can you all get phone headsets of a decent quality that don't cut in n out?
I waited 56 minutes till tech Jeremy answered. Sounded like I woke him up. He was in a pissy mood. His phone kept cutting in n out and after just a minute into the call, he either just hung up on me or his crap phone disconnected the call.
Now i am sitting on hold again..... For who knows how long

TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE customer service.

I even had one customer service rep tell me I didn't need to speak to a technician, she (Summer) was diagnosing my problem and telling me that I needed to hire someone to come to my home.
I had to repeatedly tell her that I wanted to speak to a Tech.

UPDATE:. After another 40 minutes of being on hold, I spoke to a tier 2 technician by the name of Sam. He was very professional and was able to walk me through my issue.

Extremely frustrating process. But if you can get through all the idiots to someone who knows what's going on. Thank you Sam.

I bought a Rheem 27-T tankless water heater from Home Depot about 2years ago the unit worked okay in the beginning. We was happy for about a year then we started noticing less hot water over the time but never gave it any thought that it was bad. Forward to today 3/13/23 called Rheem to have the unit warranty take over the lady said to send in pictures of what’s going on I did it’s leaking from their welding job. Waited a few minutes got in email stating your warranty is voided do to leaking and calcium build up. I don’t understand this I’m not responsible for welding the unit. Why? Was my warranty voided poor customer service the lady I called back to speak to gave me in attitude and hung the phone up after I asked to speak to a manager. Poor customer service please don’t buy there products people if you love your hard earned money. They are in the con business

Rheem's wifi app (formerly known as Econet) does not work - geofencing and manually setting away to save energy. Despite calls to fix, the answer is that it's a known issue with no timeframe to address. Typical response for Rheem reviews is to call Econet WHICH DOES NOT WORK.

As noted, the answer is that it's a known issue with no timeframe to be addressed. So I wasted at least $600 for three hot water heaters with this feature - the additional price over a regular hot water heater without this feature ($200/unit extra). "Junk," as a friend of mine says.

I bought rheem water heater from Home Depot 6 weeks ago. A week later there was no hot water. After a total of 2 hours on the phone and 3 service calls there still no hot water. Calling product defect attorney now. Will never buy a rheem product again and hope neither will you.

I see why nobody sells Rheem HVAC. We ordered a compressor which is only available from the factory with a 4 to 5 week lead time, and it's now been 8 plus weeks with no line of sight to actual availability. When my customer is down, Rheem makes their local distributor and HVAC contractor look very bad. Thanks Rheem. I'll be sure to keep you on my "Do NOT sell" list.

We had a fuse blow in our brand new tankless hot water heater. I called customer service and was extremely disappointed. The representative had advised me that we would have to test the fuse and voltage. She basically copy and pasted the instructions from the owners manual left it up to me to figure out how to test, locate and replace the fuse😡 She didn't provide a part number (which is on backorder) and was the most unhelpful individual I've ever encountered. The unit is under manufacturer warranty and left it up to us to figure out! We have been without hot water for 1+ weeks and counting. Would not recommend Rheem due to the most unhelpful customer service EVER!!
