The team that did our installation was great. They did exactly what we were told initially and cleaned up and left the place as they found it. The bad part was unfortunately in a short amount of time I had to have my roof replaced and I told Renu this before the install and was quoted a certain price for them to come take down the panels and then put them back after the roof. It turned out to be much more expensive and the person that told me the actual cost was blunt and rude about it. It was like he was saying this is the best I can do, pay it or remove the panels yourself. I had to borrow money in order to pay them for this. Also they provided the financing for the balance on the panels and install but could not add the cost of the second installation to it. During the time we have been paying for these panels, about 3 years, we have received notice of the payment going higher twice. It seems they have it built in the contract where they can actually due this three times while on the finance contract. I was very disappointed in this because we weren’t told in advance of this.
The system itself is great and having Duke energy bills (for power after the sun goes down) $40 or less a month is fantastic.

I researched Solar for over a year before deciding on Renu Enery solutions. They did everything they said they would do and did it when they said they would. My install was about a year ago and I recently upgraded with another powerwall 2. Renu is probably the best company in my area to do your Solar Installation. I am now almost totally self sufficient because of Renu.

I could write a very long book about the horrible experiences we had with Renu and their newest company Sunset renewables. Once the install was complete and problems arose we were met with inexperienced, rude , nonresponsive pass the buck service people. Problems arose quickly after installation. My sonnen was riddled with mistakes of bad wiring, untrained technicians and weeks out appointments. I was also ridiculed by the service manager and few times through text whenever I had concerns.
I had to contact Sonnen continuously to help with repairs. They told me to contact my installer which I did on many occasions with little or no success. The stress level has been huge since installation. Trying to coordinate with both companies to work with one another was even worse. Being just the consumer I had little power to force repairs or calls returned.
I even reached out to the owner of Renu for help got no response. I later found out that through a comment of the service manager that they don’t even install my product anymore so I should stop bothering them even though I rightfully had a service contract.
I was finally able to get Sonnen on board to train Renu in repairing my unit. All in all it was a very disappointing experience (continues to be) and what is sad is they do have some wonderful and intelligent people who were willing to help and listen.

The product is amazing when it works but unfortunately every five to seven months (first two year it was like every three months since 2018 I had to contact Renu for service. And as of now my Sonnen is again in need of service.
If I were to be asked if I would purchase again with Renu answer would be no.
Buyer beware

Update* Renu did reach out to me through their customer service representative. Although it was appreciated it is too late to make it right.

I was able to give examples not just a ranting disgruntled customer to the rep. I do not retract or regret a single word I wrote. They focused on one employee in particular who no longer works for them which is wonderful but it was not just him. It was more than a few people who are still employed with the company.

I purchased solar panels from Renu 3 year ago. I can't say enough good things about them. Everyone has been just great from all departments. I just added more panels. Again everyone has been great, but I have to give a special thanks to an inside assistant service advisor, Calli Hudgins. There was some mix up on a repair order, but once Calli got involved she established a definite day for the service and then found a way to get them here early. She has been one of the most engaging, pleasant people I have every worked with. She is how good this company is. Nice work and I am very happy with the extra panels. Highly recommend this Company.

Terrible customer service. Kept blowing me off for weeks. Made up price quote with no detail. Asked to change equiptment to be installed and was ignored until "we have no more availability this year." I have been through two Renu reps so far and almost got a legit contract that fell through.
