Staff is the usual polite good ole boys and girls. if you've never witnessed a southern cooperative you're in for a treat. This is not a real Co-op this is a monopoly that sends over $40 million dollars to buy power allegedly from Baker Donelson’s Masonic TVA instead of producing it here. Members are not allowed to attend meetings or are bullied or gang stalked when attempting any input. Members are charged over $100k annually for a magazine they have no opt out choice in. They are illegally operating out of Tennessee claiming to be a Virginia corporation not CO-OP! They have sent over 10 million dollars to projects in Tennessee yet hardly any in Virginia. A lawsuit filed by accountant Joanne Dillingham alleges $40,000 came up missing. Bank president is also the head of the board. Staff refuses to remove or allow replacement of smart meters that put out toxic radiation and have caused fires. They installed a white box that routinely harasses with a high frequency over 10k hertz and refuse to explain what it is. They had multiple lawsuits related to their migrants spraying pesticides under the power line without owners consent killing animals and causing cancer. Note: they expect you to cut under your power line if you do not want their toxic spray. Do yourself a favor and move into an area that has Dominion power or where powerlines are not putting out over 1,000 milligauss (mG) of radiation next to your house and they allow analog meters. After the most recent outage they should be paying and get a government grant to install peloton water turbines which are far more cost efficient and reliable than this power. PVEC Fiber and the 5G kill network: THE FCC CRIME CAUGHT ON NEXRAD
From April 16-18, 2024 NEXRAD captured intense pulsed microwave radiation blanketing the entire US, ramping up nightly. These 750 kW pulses from 159 NEXRAD towers and 160 Doppler stations emit 2.7-2.9 GHz frequencies, disturbingly close to those of a microwave oven. And they're hitting us for 12-14 hours straight each night while we sleep.
These 750 kW pulses from 159 NEXRAD towers and 160 Doppler stations emit 2.7-2.9 GHz frequencies, disturbingly close to those of a microwave oven. And they're hitting us for 12-14 hours straight each night while we sleep. Why is this alarming? A growing body of research links chronic low-level microwave exposure to various health issues. It can suppress melatonin production, disrupting sleep and circadian rhythms. EEG studies show it alters brain activity and electrical signaling. Animal studies suggest it impairs immunity, alters heart function, and even causes misfolding of peptides - a known factor in neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and Creutzfeldt-Jakob (the human form of mad cow disease). What's allowing this? A gaping loophole in FCC regulations. While the FCC sets exposure limits, they're averaged over 30 days. So, while these nightly radiation spikes may far exceed safe thresholds, they're obscured by daily averages. Chronic repetitive exposure slips right under the radar. This is a convenient little loophole in FCC regulation that allows telecoms to zap the nation while never “violating” FCC Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE) limits.
The mmWave is a weapon. Plain and simple. It should NEVER have been allowed into the public domain. And here's the kicker: the telecom giants rolling out 5G have uncomfortably cozy ties to military and intelligence agencies. The NSA and FBI are deeply involved in 5G “security guidance.” And with little surprise, Blackstone and BlackRock have made substantial investments in cell tower companies and fiber providers that are key to the wireless industry…. a deeper dive may be warranted, but I can tell you this for certain: these partnerships are not for the benefit of our health or that of the biosphere. PVEC should be notifying customers of this alarming exposure and do something to stop it. The FCC should be banning 5G and arresting the criminals behind these weapons!! Ground yourself and file insurance claim when electronics get fried etc

Once again Powell Valley Electric came to the rescue when a healthy looking Oak tree split and took down our powerline, fiber optic line and snapped the mast above the meter box. Repaired within hours of the phone call. We were out of town for several days and everything in the freezer and refrigerator would have been a pile of smelly garbage. Thank you folks - one more time.

Powell Valley has the best customer service I have ever experienced. The ladies at the Sneedville office are amazing, so patient and knowledgeable. Always willing to go above and beyond what you would expect. And the field service guys are absolutely the very best at what they do. When we called at 3am to report our service was out, the response was immediate! We live pretty far out and the gravel road into our place is small and winding. Despite all the challenges, Nathan and the rest of the crew were here in less than 30 minutes and worked tirelessly until the problem was resolved. And as for the internet service, far superior to their competitors! Faster and more importantly, always up and no service outages!

They were late on sending me my electric bill in the mail. It was due on October 17th 2023. They usually send the electric bill through the mail. few weeks before the first I paid it earlier on the 3rd. They sent my electric bill on the 20th. If they come to my house trying to tell me they are here to cut my power off. it's not going to happen got my receipt ware I paid my electric bill don't owe anything.

They owe us money and will not return it for 90-120 days -

They also didn't cancel our autosubscribe until a month after we had cancelled our service (They tried to bill us again)

Shady practices - Deceptive billing.

Update 1 March 2023 - Still waiting on our refund - These guys are total jokes

Update 2 April 18th 2023 - Still waiting on our refund - If you can avoid it, use someone else - These guys are worthless.

Update 3 May 2nd 2023 - This company is a pure scam, they may provide services, however they not only over billed me, they have continued to keep my money. Class Action is warranted.

I agree with the comment about the third world nation. Power is going out every other second, then comes back on. It's not falling limbs. Even if it is . our bills are so high. since they are that high . You should hire more crews to go around and cut limbs. If you can't afford more crews. Let's start at the top and cut all executive pay by 50 % at the top level and 25% at the mid level. then base their bonuses on customer service reviews and 100% power all the time. The employees at the bottom are polite. The management needs to be replaced or let them do regular hard-working employees jobs for a week every month to see what it's like.
also, during storms or power outages, management should have to answer the phones if they have power that is.

Last thing with power going on and off so much. They should have to pay for all electrical devices that blow. Hit the bottom line and their pay. They'll fix the problems instead of making bad excuses.
