Palomar Solar and Roofing was excellent. I had checked with other Solar companies and never followed through with them. Bryce was very knowledgeable and I signed up. Everyone at Palomar Solar and Roofing was very helpful and always on time. They let me know what was going to be done on the days they were here working. I would recommend them to everyone.

I made sure to shop around and do my homework. I wanted the roof done on the original house not the 10yr addition, but solars on both sides. They definitely gave us the best price. Be careful because there are some companies that extremely overcharge.

As soon as we finalized the paperwork they began working, but one day we got home to see they removed the roof on a section of the addition. We were so scared they were going to up the price or scam us somehow. They actually apologized and said they would be replacing the roof on all the house at no extra charge. We were in shock, no renegotiating no nothing, we couldn’t believe it.

The next thing that happened was that while they were working on the solar, the city inspectors came and realized the roof was also replaced and not inspected and the plywood used was not up to code. I thought oh no here it comes we are going to get a huge bill or they are going to leave our roof half way done and tell us a story that it is not worth it to them.

To our surprise, they said they thought we were under the umbrella of the neighboring city since we were at the border of both, so they were going by those guidelines. They said they would take the hit as a learning experience and moved forward. WHAT I was in SHOCK
NOBODY DOES HONEST BUSINESS LIKE THIS, but PALOMAR does.

When I started looking for solar, there were so many companies that it was really hard, to be honest Palomar was in the bottom of my list, but after meeting with my sales Phil and how he explained everything I felt really comfortable. Weeks later they gave me a date to install, they showed up early I the morning and where done by 3 pm with everything I was amazed with the quality and cleanness of work they performed.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND:
With all the hype in the solar marketplace it was nice to do business with a firm that was very straightforward from the first meeting to the final signoff. Hiring a solar company is a big step for most people as it was for us. We immediately had confidence in the firm because of how it was professionally represented by Bowie Rozema.

DUE DILIGENCE
There were multiple concerns we had going into our search including
1.) What is the reputation of the firm?
2.) Will we have enough solar power to satisfy our needs now and in the future (right equipment/configuration)?
3.) Is the proposed system priced fairly?
4.) Will the installation be done on time and right the first time?
5.) What warranties will they provide and will they have the customer service required to support us in the long haul?

We had proposals from multiple solar firms and were confident that Palomar’s pricing was competitive and the proposed system would be adequate for our needs.

INSTALLATION
Over the day-and-a-half their installation team was here they were polite, efficient, and cleaned up after themselves. Because of their stature in the marketplace and their longevity we are convinced that Palomar Solar will be a strong partner for us not only now but in the future.

TL;DR: I love my solar. Experience with Palomar was outstanding. Adam, office staff, and crew were excellent. I wouldn’t have changed a thing. Don’t entertain those door-to-door guys; call Palomar.

I'm not exaggerating when I say that everything about this experience was positive. From my first call to Palomar to the support after installation, the whole Palomar team has been attentive, courteous, informative, fun, competent, and patient. Adam was exceptional. Shortly after our first meeting, he sent me two proposals. He quickly responded to my numerous calls and emails over the next several months of me mulling over my options and concerns. His knowledge, professionalism, optimism, and attentiveness sold me on both solar and Palomar. (Before finding Palomar, I had spoken with three other companies. The interactions were so disappointing that I had almost given up on the idea.) Adam instilled confidence.

Palomar quickly got my project going, and before long, the crew was at my house ready to install. The installation team was amazing. I’ve worked with countless contractors/teams over the years, and yet I have never seen a team like this. They were happy, smiling, and fun while being extremely competent and efficient. They knocked out 26 panels, all the conduit and the service panel, and all the touch-up paint in one day despite a late start due to rain. After they were done, my nit-picky brain noticed a couple aesthetic issues. Even though it was 4pm and they were packed up to leave, they didn’t hesitate to listen to my concerns and identify a fix. They quickly worked together to remedy the situation, and they did it with positive attitudes and the upmost concern for my happiness. Absolutely the best crew I’ve ever seen.

Energizing the system took less time than I was quoted, and it went off without a hitch. Palomar has an excellent reputation with inspectors, so approval was quick.

I’ve had the system for two months now. The panels look nice on my roof thanks to the design and quality of the panels, and the perfect workmanship of the installers. My system rocks. I went big and I’m glad I did. I can use as much energy as I want without worrying about a bill. No more $450 SDGE bills; instead, they’re negative.

Don’t entertain those door-to-door guys, call Palomar. Palomar is everything that you could hope for and more. I couldn’t be happier.

As an aside, and my response to frequently negative reviewers, if you want a positive experience with a company, be a positive consumer. Sometimes things go sideways no matter the effort and attitude, but more often, an optimistic attitude will go a long way. If you are reasonable with your expectations, and you give businesses a chance to address your concerns, you’ll find yourself writing a lot of positive reviews.

These guys are awesome, in my situation the roof is too old and would cause more headache than saving so not a good fit. They could have told me, "Look at these savings and don't worry about potential leaks" or "No it's easy to transfer a lease when you sell your house." (When I have found out from other home owners it's NOT) I talked with Bryce, super nice, very straightforward and put my interest in front of them making money. Rare to find, if you are looking into Solar at least give them a call.
