Ocotillo Solar designed and installed our 5KW PV system in fall 2024 and I highly recommend this small, responsive company. They specced the Enphase microinverter system I wanted at a 10% lower price than their major competition. What’s more, they managed the complex permitting process in only 7 weeks from signing the contract to a completed, PNM-approved system. I stuck to the installation team like glue (I love construction projects) and everything they did was well thought out, clean and professional. I met every member of the Ocotillo team and liked working with them all. There’s nothing quite as satisfying as firing up the Enphase monitoring app on my phone and seeing the system producing power day in and day out — unless it’s watching my electric meter run backwards and never having to pay PNM for another watt of power!

Dominic and the team were easy to work with and always available to answer our questions in a helpful and friendly manner. After we got through PNM’s secondary review process, the installation was fast and easy. The installation crew even cleaned up after themselves very well too, which is not something that happens with every contractor.
We are quite happy with the quality of the equipment and the exceptional warranty. I would highly recommend Ocotillo to anyone in the market for a solar system.

Ocotillo Solar installed our flat rooftop solar panels. The whole experience was very easy. Dominic and his team laid out every step and took care of all the meetings with the city for applications etc. We had to have our electric panel upgraded and they took care of that with their in-house electrician. They helped with understanding and applying for the tax credits which paid for 40% of the job. It was an overall pleasant experience. Dominic and his team are all very nice and helpful. We highly recommend them.

We decided to get solar 3 years ago and first met with a large company. We were convinced we would go with them after a meeting at our house but decided to meet with a smaller company as well. Despite having already basically decided to go with the big name company, Ocotillo was impressive enough to independently change both of our minds. The owner was very knowledgeable and able to answer my (probably fairly technical on average) questions about everything from the wattage of the array vs the transformer to the roof penetrations to what would happen to warranties should they go out of business. I appreciated Dominic's straightforward answers to my frank questions. After the meeting, my wife and I each tentatively broached the topic of changing to Ocotillo only to find the other in complete agreement.

3 years on I think what a great decision that was every time I see another company on a billboard around town. The process from purchase to installation was quite painless even with somewhat confusing government solar rebate paperwork in the mix, with Ocotillo doing much of the heavy lifting in that regard. They have stuck to their word to perform maintenance yearly. We just finished our third yearly maintenance without having to initiate anything on our own, which is what spurred me to write this review.

I would wholeheartedly recommend them to any of my friends or family.

Ten years ago, Ocotillo gave me an estimate for solar panels. I contacted them this year to install the panels because I wanted a company that was local, professional, and here to stay. So many other solar companies have come and gone, and I have heard customers complain. If you want the right people to do the job right the first time, use Ocotillo Solar Electric. They are the only solar company I recommend.

Ocotillo receives my highest recommendation. They were knowledgeable and competitively priced. And their communication was stellar! From Dominic (the owner), to Steward (the electrician), to Tim (the project manager), to Waylon (the site supervisor), to Emily (the administrative director), they kept me informed at every step of the process. If I had a question, I always got a quick response. They consistantly did what they said they would do, when they said they would do it. When was the last time you could say that about a business?

We highly recommend this company! Ocotillo solar installed our system in March of 2022, so I’m writing this review 16 months later. Starting with the estimate, Dominic made sure that we were aware of our options, and patiently answered all of our questions. When installation day came, we were properly permitted and the crew was efficient and courteous. Since the install, they made sure we had all of the necessary paperwork for rebates and came out about one year later to clean the panels and inspect the system. In the end we’ve enjoyed electric bills around $8 a month, along with the satisfaction that we’ve reduced our carbon footprint.
