NewTerra is a great local composting service. I subscribe to the service where I take the compost to a drop off bin and there are lots of convenient bins all around Chattanooga. (I just take my compost to Niedlov's when I'm craving a croissant!) It is such a good feeling knowing I am keeping organic waste out of landfills.

Great guys who are patient with all my questions about what weird stuff I can (or can't) compost. Also love that they deliver the beautiful black compost which saves me time & energy.

We have been using NewTerra home composting service since September 2023 and could not be happier. They make it easy to skip a service if we’re out of town and then add a credit to our account. It is amazing to see how little garbage we have now. Already we have kept over 130 pounds out of the landfill! We highly recommend and encourage everyone to give this service a chance. We can all make a difference.

I didn't realize how much of our trash was food until we started composting--apple cores, ends of celery, egg shells, and on and on. NewTerra Compost is reasonably priced and easy to use, and the people are so nice! We have a convenient drop-off location near us, so we can dump the compost as often as needed, and we're scheduled to pick up our spring compost at a super-nice location (that we want to visit again soon!). I'm so thankful for this convenient way to contribute to the well-being of our planet. Thanks, NewTerra!

We worked with Melanie to set up composting service at Cleveland State's Multicultural Fair for students this spring. The event generates A LOT of food and food service waste from each attendee using multiple plates and discarding cultural foods they try but don't care for.

Using NewTerra to reduce our landfill contribution was a fantastic way to educate our students about the impact of their waste and the options they have to reduce it. NewTerra dropped off collection bins as described in advance of the event, assisted us in procuring compostable plates, cups, and utensils, provided education at the event, and promptly picked up our composting waste after the conclusion of the event. GREAT service at an affordable rate and they are very passionate about spreading the word about composting, in general.

Look forward to working with them again on future educational opportunities and/or high-waste events.

NewTerra Compost helped me reduce the footprint of my wedding last weekend and it turned out great! They provided a 64-gallon bin, compostable bags for the venue's smaller bins, and compostable cocktail cups for our bar. I created bin signs and bought all compostable plates, bowls, and napkins for my event, which made collection a breeze. Michael with NewTerra coordinated with my venue to ensure that all provided materials were dropped off prior to my wedding and picked up the FULL 64-gallon bin at the end of the weekend.

Michael's customer service was excellent, and he even followed up to let me know that we diverted 53.3 pounds of compostable material from the landfill 🙂 I would definitely recommend using compostables for your wedding and partnering with NewTerra for your big day!!

I love the idea of this service, but it's been a hassle getting support, especially since I switched to curbside pickup. I found dumping my compost in the public bins pretty gross and decided to splurge on curbside pickup. It's been almost two months since I tried to switch to this service. After lots of miscommunication and delays from the company, I've never had my compost picked up despite double the cost. I feel like I'm wasting my time and money. I have reached out to customer service and hope they can resolve this situation satisfactorily. Their voice mail is full. If they can resolve the lack of pickup, I will update my review - or buy something like a lomi.

Update: Just talked with Grace from customer service. She's very nice and said some of the onboarding problem stemmed from me switching from drop-off to pick-up. Their systems aren't currently designed for this change. She's working on trying to resolve the issue with picking up my compost. I will add more stars once I'm on a hassle-free flow.

Final Update: It took a couple more weeks to missed buckets, but we're now on the route. One of the owners personally called me to assist, and the regular driver knocked on my door to introduce himself. We've now had two or three weeks of successful pickup. So, I'm now happy!
