The rates are ridiculous.
How the hell can my.bill skyrocket 300 dollars in a month. The thermostat is set to the lowest possible setting. I have another house up north and have a higher setting and not charged this much. Not paying the bill until I get a second reading, meter checked while I'm there. I schedule a tech on Friday but had to be reschedule because they only do it Tues or Thurs. The rep was incompetent and didn't let me know he cant come on Friday. I wasted my time. How can older people in this 65 and above community pay this bill if each month and year the rates goes up. Ridculous and Incompetent company! This company is so antiquated they can't even send a follow-up email or text confirmation a tech is scheduled. Company and customer service is garbage. Not even a 1 star more like -1000 stars

The first time I smelled gas in our old house, my husband was hesitant to call expecting it to cost an arm and a leg. Not only was it free, but the service worker spent time with my handyman husband going through the piping & taught him some stuff. When I smelled gas a few years later, he immediately told me to call. The emergency line is answered by a real person and someone was at our house, found the leak and scheduled a same day repair within 30 min of that call. As service business owners ourselves, we understand the need to make money, but also keep our customers safe and have a lot of gratitude for companies that do the right thing and repair workers who are customer centric. So from our company to yours, two thumbs up!

Horrible horrible company. Just looked at my bill from this service period to same service period 1 year ago. They are charging $131 dollars more, in just one month, to deliver the gas to our home then they did just one year ago. That is just pure price gouging and trying to take advantage of customers. No way there should be that much increase in DEL in a 1 year period. It's outrageous and NJNG should be ashamed of trying to maximize profit in the current market environment. If that's just the price increase on 1 home I cannot imagine they money they are raking in from all their customers. Additionally, it says the DEL charge includes societal benefit programs elated to the environment and energy efficiency. I'm sorry, I'm not subsidizing your or the state of NJ's pet projects. Unreal!

*** IF YOU ARE THINKING OF SWITCHING TO NJNG ***
*** PLEASE READ ***

First let me say this:
If I knew in 2020 what I know now of NJNG and the BPU, I would have NEVER switched to natural gas!!!

The BPU has allowed NJNG to raise the price of delivery, (The part you CANNOT shop for), from $0.6976 on April 30th, 2021 to $1.2984 on Jan 1st, 2025. Thats over 86%, (with more coming). ALL APPROVED BY THE BPU!!! The majority to get back the money they spent to increase their profit by adding more customers to their system, (they extended the system to your neighborhood).

Also, be aware of a policy that the BPU allows utility companies in this state. That policy states that the utility can increase your customer charge by up to 20% whenever they decide to extend your billing cycle to more than 34 days, for whatever they want and whenever they want. You have (0) recourse and again the BPU will do nothing. With over 580,000 customers, that is more than $1,250,000.00 EXTRA for NJNG, every month they do it, for doing NOTHING extra. They call it PRORATING!! Yeah, the policy also states that they have to deduct 20% if they do a short billing cycle, (less than 25 days). Which do you think they do!! I guarantee that in any given year you will pay more than 12 months for your customer charge for 12 months of service!! I have had NJNG for 4 years and I paid extra in 3 of those 4 years.

I forgot. It's OK though because almost everyone is eligible for the social programs they offer, (not really). By the way we pay for those also!! Look it up, they are all included in the delivery charge. They call it things like "SOCIETAL BENEFIT CHARGE". Look at the BPU dockets. The universal service fund and lifeline programs, we pay for those. The energy efficiency programs they so graciously provide, yeah, we pay for those too. The more they give away the more we pay!! Ever wonder who gets most of those benefits, people who know people who know how to manipulate the system.

Raffaella was our marketing rep. She truly went above and beyond to assist us with EVERY step of the conversion process. What a knowledge and kind person she is! Kudos to this company for hiring such a dedicated employee!!
Dominic Biancamano, a seasoned supervisor with the company, was also instrumental in the ease of this conversion process. He personally oversaw the work and timeliness of the job and we had heat soon after we lost our oil furnace, within a week!
It's people like Raffaella and Dominic that keep companies running smoothly. Thanks guys!!!!

It's not everyday that you call the gas company because you have a their home protection plan and the HVAC techs that come out are not only knowledgeable but they go above and beyond! Thank you Scott, Bruce and congratulations to Bill! You guys are the greatest!

Awful. What’s the point of a service contract if you can’t get an appointment? If you do get an appointment, you don’t get a window time. Every service rep has the same poor attitude and says “it’s not my problem”
Consumers should really have the ability to choose different providers, not just whoever they get stuck with based on address. DO BETTER!
