This Company should be subject to a class action suit and PUC investigation. If you pay your bill online and simultaneously enroll in autopay, the company puts a block on autopay payments. While this is apparently to prevent double billing at the time of enrollment.... THEY DO NOT REMOVE IT. Their web portal continues to show the customer is properly enrolled under their "set it and forget it" autopay feature despite all payments being blocked by JCPL on the back end without the customer's knowledge. In my case, since I am a caregiver for my 88 year-old mother and don't live nearby, this resulted in them shutting off her power. Aside from the inconvenience on a chilly March day, they refuse to refund the incremental charges of restoring power despite their billing system's contribution to the problem. How many thousands of customers have paid their bill on-line and simultaneously enrolled in autopay? My guess is thousands.

The worst company. If your thinking of buying a home in their service area please find one somewhere else. They want a 500 dollar security after 20years of being in my home. The constant outages and long restore times. New for 2025 They now charge to pay the bill Not just a CC service fee even with an electronic bank draft they charge. The estimated bills are always super high and the people that work there if you do get through are rude and impatient. I love my home but can’t wait to move out of their service area. JCPL is the worst company.

Hands down the worst experience in life. I try to make light of every situation I come across but they are so impossible to work with. There is no explanation for security deposits being $700 dollars for no reason... They randomly go from a $395 bill to $7500 come threaten to shut off till you ask for explanation in person because over the phone is just impossible. After finally having them say yea wow that's weird it drops by $7000 and they say well it's not $7000 any more only for it to happen again a few months later. Now it's averaging 20 degrees and the same bs happens I just want explanations......

Every aspect of experience with this company is terrible. Their email system cant receive my emails, automated phone system doesn't work, support is rude. They totally messed up setting up my account when i moved into this house and basically are blaming me for it and never gave me any notice beside the note on my door saying tomorrow it will be turned off. Now I have to go to the physical location with my lease agreement in the morning and hope I can get my account issues fixed before they turn my power off.

I've been in my house since August 2020 and I don't think I've gone a whole month without some type of lengthy power outage. Too rainy power is out, too windy power is out, too snowy power is out, too sunny power is out. They should install a whole home generator as soon as you sign up for this company. Unfortunately they are the only option, talk about monopolizing. If I had a star to give this company, I would use it to power my house instead.

Power has been out for 16 hours it’s 92 degrees outside !!! They keep changing the time for restoration. Absolutely ridiculous no one to talk to . I had to move my family from my home to a family members home because how long our power has been out . I wish we had another option for electric . Having power out this long in August is a health risk not everyone can afford generators.

If i could give zero stars i would. Watch out because they do not follow state laws and will illegally turn off power. Know your rights. Besides that, they are rude and arrogant. The people at the office and on the field are completely useless and their supervisors are nasty as can be. I hate that this is the service provider i need to have for where i live and theres no other option. It’s unbelievable that these people keep their jobs and that upper management does not clear house.

I spent a total of six hours on hold today just trying to set up electrical service at my new apartment. Each time I managed to get a person, they were perfectly nice, but the hold time is surreal. 2.5 to 3.5 hours estimated hold time at 2:30 in the afternoon, so if I don't manage to get a person by 6 pm when they close, I just spent 3.5 hours on hold for nothing? I would pay more for electrical service from a different company as long as they had enough customer service staff.
