Consistently experienced power out for hours or days on end with little too no compensation on bills. Got an approved 6-day prorate when we moved which turned out to be a full month charge instead. And bills consistently tripled in the winter months without an increase to my actual power use, they collect everyone's power use and spread it out instead of charging by each individual meter. Experienced this in multiple areas sound Tennessee not just in Nashville. Terrible service that holds monopoly over many areas, be aware your power will go out and you will still be charged.

I wish I could give them no stars but it’s been more than a year and a half and I have not gotten my deposit back. I moved to Nashville 2 years ago and moved to Murfreesboro a year ago. I paid my last light bill and told NES that I will cancel my service due to moving. They told me that I will have my deposit back in a few weeks! So I waited and waited and finally a month later I called to see if they have send my deposit back. They told me that I will get it on the new address I moved to, you will have to wait 2 more weeks. So guess what ? I waited 2 more weeks and nothing happened so I called back. They told me that they send my check in the mail weeks before, I knew they were lying because I have been waiting over a month now. So they told me that they will give me a new check and I should wait another week or so. Long story short it’s been more than a year and a half and I still haven’t gotten my deposit back! Don’t trust this COMPANY ! They will keep your money!

(Update 4/17/2025, I finally got my paycheck in the mail ! It took close to 2 years and a call from NES supervisor to get my money back. All I can say is thank you for making it possible she made it happen! As for the workers there, please get these other people their money ! Cuz I know I’m not the only one that has gone through this .. I changed my rating from 1 star to 3 for this )

Honestly I wish I could give less stars to this group, I cancelled my service and without proper notification after paying off the disconnection and all other fees they charged a hidden 28.33. Which I did not know about and deferred the payment to a collections group. Very shady, it’s best to find candles and live in the dark. Tennessee do better in considering where your electricity comes from if they are struggling so much they have to do grimy things for money. Also, I didn’t not find out about this ā€œbillā€ they had sent, while looking over my credit I found out about cde group the collections agency for natural resources did I discover their nefarious actions.

If I could give them zero stars I would. They changed the system unbeknownst to us and power goes out as usual and there was no way to report your outage you had to go online that is if you was using your phone. They knew of the storms and still wasn’t prepared and like always were the ones that have to suffer. I will be moving away frequently m NES area because they suck I was looking at the other electric services and they didn’t have many at all outages. Every time the wind blows the electric goes out smdh

The online portal is a joke. I can’t access payment history or billing history. The phone service also is lacking. Hold time is always over 40 minutes and the call back option is a hit or miss. My hold time kept going up from starting at 19 minutes and surpassing 40 minutes. This is the worst electric company ever.

I switched apartments halfway through the month and wanted to test and see if NES would charge me the whole month even without using electricity. Turns out they did, not surprised that a government ran company is taking advantage of everyone. This company needs a full on investigation. I had one apartment for 2 weeks exactly and they charged me $58. FOR TWO WEEKS!!! Thats what I typically paid for the month for a small one bed apartment. SCAM, someone please take this company to court!!

My life savior! This morning, my house lost power, so I contacted NES. They responded very quickly and resolved my issue in no time. Today is Thanksgiving—a day they could have been spending with their families—but they were out working to ensure we have electricity. I’m truly grateful for their dedication and hard work. Thank you for your excellent service!
