These guys have been great! After trying to meet with a different company for solar panels, Modern Mill came through when the other company did not. Modern Mill sent a great person, Bernie Glavin, to come and sit with us and walk us through the whole process. He explained everything in great detail and alleviating any concerns and making sure we understood everything about the process. Then for the install we had some really great guys. They were super professional and great. Very respectful young men. They were quick and efficient and super courteous and nice. Thanks to Daniel, Tyler, Joe, and Sebastian for getting us all set up for solar. Super excited to work with their company and start lowering our carbon footprint.

They did a great job with the install. Joseph had a great crew Osvaldo, Kyle and La Rhonda cleaned up everything. Had acouple obstacles to overcome but everything worked out fine. Now just waiting on the electrician to come and hook up to get some free power?

Modern Mill is a non-responsive company to deal with. I have been trying for months to get someone to get back with me our issues we are having with our system that they installed over two years ago. Right now we are only able to use one of the two solar array's that they installed because the first array has some type of electrical issue because it keeps popping the breaker. The add on generator that was installed was supposed to have a WiFi chip in it so that we could monitor it from the app on our cell phones, that has not been addressed. When they first did the install it took them over six months to get the system up and running. The team that they used to do the install were rookies comments that they made while working were that they had never installed as many panel residentially as they did with ours. they stood around and talked a lot or were even on their phones and not working trying to get completed. If we would have know then what we know now we would have never chosen Modern Mill for the installation of our system. If they are still in business, and I've heard that they have closed down, I would never recommend them to do anything for you homeowners out there looking to go green. THEY ARE ONE OF THE WORSE COMPANIES WHEN IT COMES TO COMMUNICATION AND CUSTOMER SERVICE AFTER INSTALL

If you’re in Wisconsin DO NOT deal with this company. I have worked with no fewer than 5 of their customers they have completely abandoned in order to get their solar arrays functioning. Totally scumbag company. If you’re interested in losing your money, never having phone calls or emails returned, and not having a company that will service your solar, go right ahead and call em. Companies like this give Solar a bad name, they should absolutely be ashamed of themselves.

If you’re interested in someone who cares about their reputation and customers, do a little research on solar contractors in the Milwaukee area and you’ll figure it out.

Out of business. All phone lines are disconnected, both here and at the parent company. Parent company in Indiana informed BBB they were closing, and stopped responding to BBB communications.

Horrible operation, when they were in business. There's quite a bit of logistical and follow-up inspections and verifications they are supposed to do. They never do any of them. When you call and try to find out the status, you would get the runaround, promised call-backs than never happened, and then, eventually, they'd recognize your phone number and dodge your calls.

My system has been running, but, I've found out, illegally, for two years, as they've never finished post-inspection follow-ups.

It's especially galling that the supposed "owner" responded to a review a month ago. They don't exist any more. Maybe that owner is trying to forestall legal claims from being filed before they close out any pending bankruptcy actions.

I've had a unique experience working with this company. I enjoyed the interaction with the sales person who was able to inform me that my house was able to produce enough solar given the conditions although I had to remove one tree. The installation went flawless and quick thanks to Joseph and Oz. Once the panels were up I had to wait a while due to the holidays and the huge volume this company is doing in the state of Wisconsin. Today Modern Mill sent out a friendly, professional electrician, Michael Wheeler, who spent all day alone installing the inverter and other hardware outside of my house. I am very satisfied with how everything was installed and the work place was left looking neat and the system looks rad next to the utility box. Thanks for the outstanding job from the initial quote to the last handshake upon finishing the installation. I'm looking forward to referring everyone to you guys! A+++

Do not trust Modern Mill Solar. Huge buyers remorse. Not one thing they promised went as planned. Install was 17 months after the contract was signed (they promised 2-3 months). None of the benefits they sold me on were followed through on. Cost was more than expected, and my panels are generating $1-$2 of energy a month (promised around $300). They didn’t reimburse me for the loan payments that I was paying as I was waiting for install like they promised. They didn’t insulate my attic like they said they would. When panels were installed holes around the electrical box allowed mice into my home (and nobody will respond to calls or emails). When panels were finally installed, they miscommunicated with WE Energies and my home was without power for a night (we couldn’t stay there with little kids and no power to cook dinner). The communication is the most frustrating because they just don’t care. They acknowledge they over sold panels and don’t have the staff to follow through on their commitments, but the blatant ignoring of calls/voicemails/emails by multiple contacts within their organization is unbelievable.

Signed a contract in October, solar panels installed in December and now, in July, I am paying for a system that has yet to be finished and connected.
Installation crew was lovely (as was my salesman, Griffen) but communication and professionalism since install has been horrible. I have not had one consistent point of contact and the current customer service agent is hard to reach, dismissive, and lacking in knowledge about the process.
I recently learned that they oversold without supplies or staffing. Okay, so why not be forthcoming about that? Mismanagement on your part shouldn't mean customers are avoided and ignored.
I now have been paying for a solar system for 7 months, which is of no use to me incomplete. Promised payment to cover my expenses have not come through as promised.
Sorely disappointed.
Would not recommend.
When and if my system is completed and operating I will update this review.
