We stopped at the Metter Welcome Center in Georgia during a road trip, and it was such a delightful experience! The woman working there was incredibly sweet and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The bathrooms were spotless—probably the cleanest we’ve seen on the road, which was such a relief.

To top it off, our greyhound, Wendy, was even allowed to come inside with us as we explored the center. It’s rare to find such pet-friendly places, and it really made our visit extra special. The center itself was well-maintained, and the hospitality was above and beyond. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re traveling through the area!

Can't say enough about how welcoming this center is to their visitors. Walking up to the porch that overlooks a beautiful pond filled with birds and wildlife says it all. You could rest here for days because of how comforting the whole place makes you feel. The ladies who work here are the sweetest and most helpful! They even sell Georgia Grown products you can purchase to take back to your loved ones. I purchased the Strawberry Lemonade Jam ! 😋 The ladies even let me take their photo SO I could remember Metter even better. Great places to eat close by off this Interstate 16 exit as well.

Staff very friendly and forthcoming. With information about visitors center, Ohio share items and localaria. Very interesting building. Visitors center has great rustic exterior with a wonderful view of lake behind the building. A very large selection of local Georgia products for sale. Large number of handouts and other literature for home Georgia and the local area.service

It was closed when we went due to power outages, but we liked hanging out outside, there were picnic tables and lots of ducks and geese. Great stop if traveling with kids. Also a couple of good family friendly restaurants in the vicinity.

You have to stop in when they're open. Ms. Jasmine is the sweetest host in all of Georgia. The inside shop is full of local products and a bunch of tasty snacks... and drinks are complimentary. Excellent place to stop and have lunch, sit on the back porch and watch the geese. Lots of grassy area for your dogs to run around and get some exercise and go to the bathroom.

Great stop on our way home from Saint Simon’s Island. We’d been searching on Google maps for a good picnic spot off the highway and didn’t see anything. We got off at this exit by chance and scored! Great setting with the lake, ducks, cranes and picnic tables. Also clean bathrooms, friendly staff at visitor center and some nice local products for sale.

Meter ga. Wow! 🤩 This is truly a diamond along 16. It's got Guido's gardens, the beautiful tree lined town square. Rich history on every corner. It really is a gorgeous place, with a home town vibe. I guess 🤔 "Everything really is better in Meter.😍

Many thanks to the kind woman working at Metter Welcome Center, GA.
I hobbled in with crutches and a recent sore busted up right knee. She graciously allowed me to use the convenient clean restroom. She was very knowledgeable about merchandise and assisted me with purchases of some delicious blueberry BBQ sauce and a jar of yummy blackberry jam. My husband and big red dog were allowed into the Welcome Center to help me back outside into the car. If in the Metter area, stop by this qaint shop. It's a hidden treasure of gift ideas and a very nice staff.
