Not starting off good. I'm an out of state investor. MLGW is refusing to turn on the utilities at one of my homes until I provide an unnecessary amount of documentation in person at their office. I've never encountered something like this before. I don't live in the state. **Update #1** so I called them.. turns out it's because of a remaining balance from the tenant who moved out. I'm not sure why they couldn't have said that over email. So I have to get an affidavit signed showing my ownership and prove that the tenant moved out. **Update #2** was told this could be handled through email after providing all of the documentation notarized, now today after having sent what they requested, they're insisting I have to schedule an appointment at the office and that the employee was mistaken. **Update #3** Took care of everything at the office, home had no water pressure, called the emergency line Saturday morning, told me they would be out as soon as they can, called back late afternoon, said the same thing, decided to call again at 1030pm, was told they don't come out for something like this until Monday. It's very weird how information consistently changes depending on who you talk to. Lady at the office in person was very nice, I just wish someone had told me I needed to fill out a form ahead of time instead of doing it when I was called.. would've helped to speed up the process. I hope things are better moving forward.

MLGW has to have the worst customer experience in the country. Their website is almost unnavigable, their customer service chat doesn't tell you it cant help you start service until after you wait for 15-20 minutes. The only way to start service is to call. But their automated phone system is also nearly impossible to navigate. I spent 5-8 minutes just trying to give it my account number information until I finally got it. Then it took a while to figure out I had to say "customer service" before it finally connected me with a human, who proceeded to ask for all the same account information again.

Oh and you must be present for them to turn on your service, but they can't make an appointment for 6-7 days? Really? I'm supposed to be on call in a house with no services until they just decide to show up? They can call when they are on their way. and I better be able to meet them there in their time frame.
Why can't they just unlock the meter and let me turn on my own valves and breakers?

I think what really bothers me, Besides that they have a monopoly on the market, is that they have all the infrastructure in place to provide a good experience, and they only need to spend a few days making it easier to use. but year after year they just continue to ride their 1998 technology instead of coming out of the dark ages and joining civilization where the rest of us are. its not like they don't make enough money.

I think their reviews speak for themselves. you can't get 1.6 stars unless you try to be bad. This isn't even mediocre.

Your MLGW employee decided to pull in to our driveway to smoke a cigarette, fling it on the ground and pee all over our driveway. What your employee wasn't smart enough to realize is we have it all on camera. Guess the dummy didn't notice all the security cameras. Absolutely vile.

Complete trash. Said they'd call before they came. Said they would come at 530. Shocker they never showed or called. Then when I talk to representative they said they can show up in the all day window and the technician hasn't made it there yet today but they close at 6? How does that even make sense. This company is worse then any DMV. They honestly should be ashamed

The internet portal for transferring service is no good. I sent a request over a week ago for service to be turned on in my new address starting July 13. I received a transfer request confirmation at this time. I moved in yesterday to my new house and this morning came to find that water had been turned off to my house. I then tried to call MLGW and was told there was no account for that address. I then had to wait 40 mins just for someone to answer the phone. They claimed I did not turn in a service request despite having a confirmation number? Here’s to hoping my water gets turned back on today though I can’t help but be a little paranoid considering how loose this system is run.

Good luck trying to ever get ahold of customer service. Been trying to get in touch with someone about service transfer for 2-3 weeks now and every time you call, it says they're phones are full and disconnects you.

I've dealt with countless power companies all over the US. MLGW is by far, the absolute worst for trying to get in touch with. They're just non existent. Horrible
