MEA is charging premium rates for garbage service. In a matter of 3 months (summer months, decent weather) I have lost power 5 times for HOURS. There is no excuse for such bad service at the rates they charge.

Continues increases to rates and power outages. This is BY FAR the worst power company of all the places I have lived. My next house will be off grid so that I can get away from MEA.

CROOKS. SWINDLERS. Money grubbing corporation disguised as local community coop. Targeting struggling small business owners by squeezing every dollar possible out of them and could care less if they put you under. During one of the hardest times to stay in business most legit companies are finding ways to help and work with you to get by. MEA does the exact opposite. They see you’re struggling to pay your bills and without warning demand you pay on time every single
month or IF YOU ARE LATE TWICE IN A YEAR THEY BILL YOU TRIPLE YOUR BILL IN ONE MONTH or else they’ll shut your power off and effectively shut down your business. I get most peoples electric isn’t the hardest to pay but as legal cannabis cultivators we pay monthly what most people do annually. Tripling that amount is completely incomprehensible and they do it with a smile on their face and without warning you after we go in there every single month and speak to them face to face. This should be totally illegal I’ve been in this business for a very long time and not once has a single utility company done anything close to this to me and we’ve always paid late sometimes. Expect us to be perfect but our power is constantly going out? They even made us pay out of pocket for our transformer upgrade that now our neighbor uses and of course won’t reimburse us or care for that matter. Worst joke of a utility company ever we are going solar immediately the amount they’re demanding from us would cover a down payment on a solid solar setup. I highly recommend others do the same we can’t let corporations treat small businesses like this.

I've had 4 outages this last month alone. Those days I was running off of generator power. Mea now is claiming I'm using DOUBLE the power than I ever have in any given month and charging me insane amounts during that same period. Nothing has changed on my end at all. They are trying to recoup money from all the service crews they send out becuase they don't take care of thier grid effectively. MEA is the worst.

The MEA website says report outage and trees on the line. Since last Friday I reported. The dispatch gave advice to stay away from the line. They would send a crew out. I know 2500 people were without power. I called again on Tuesday to dispatch and reported again. This time when I reported trees on the line and hanging low in the street. I had to hold my peace. Dispatch asked me why I did not report sooner. I told her this was my 3rd time reporting. Today 11/20 power went out at 11am'ish called and was told by dispatch they are a lot of trees on the lines.

Easy to sign up, nice, relaxed atmosphere in the office, good costumer service .Also every time I need copy of a bill, it gets emailed to me right away, as we speak on a phone. And the best thing, is you can pay your bill online.

I have discovered the reason for the soaring prices of this monopoly of a company. They don’t charge for actual usage, they charge based on an average they refuse to share the source of. After my research I discovered I was being charged exactly double what I was using. Just take a pic of your meter around 12am for a few days then compare to what the bill says when it breaks down daily usage. TO REPORT THIS ABUSE 1) notify company 2) report to consumer affairs 3) office of public utility counsel 4) public service commission 5) state reliable entity 6) attorney general. Then move to federal level 7)North American electric reliability corp. 8) utility regulatory commission and finally 9) federal regulatory commission. This company needs to be taken all the way to 9 by each one of us. They will be in very real trouble, fines will occur as will refunds. I’m hoping a class action suit will soon begin.
