Absolutely loved my visit here. Honestly I’m positive that I received at least 3 or 4 times the amount of “surprises “ while mining than I have ever received anywhere else. I recommend for anyone passing through to stop and at least look around even if you’re not in to gem mining because they have some truly amazing pieces and are so fun to talk to. Also, they know their stuff concerning rocks, minerals and gems.

Edit-Responding to business response: The man behind the counter did not cut us any deals or do something special for my granddaughter. When I asked about the prices of the buckets he went to the back with me and showed me two buckets at $20 and one at $10 so NO he wasn’t doing anything special for her. She only wanted to do it because my grandson was doing it. Maybe you should know what the man behind the counter is doing. This was our experience at your business and you keep implying that we are lying.

I don’t like businesses that lie. This business lied on their response to my grandson’s review and said they don’t sell $10 buckets. My grandson has his own Google account so if warranted he will leave a review in a young persons personal opinion. So my 11 year old grandson Jackson reviewed this business as soon as we left it. He said he was trying to be kind in his review even though he was disappointed in the amount of rocks that were in his $20 bucket. There was very little. This is not the first time he’s done gem mining. My son in law purchased a $10 bucket for my granddaughter which had way more rocks than the $20. By the way we had to wait for the sifting water to flow every minute. The purpose of my review is that the business decides to respond to my grandson saying they don’t sell $10 buckets. Well the man in the business did sell a $10 bucket. I provided a photo of the $10 transaction. I paid cash and my son in law paid by credit card. Again my grandson was trying to be kind with his review of the rock mine. Go at your own risk of possibly not getting very money rocks in a bucket for your money. After we left my grandson asked if we can go to the PIGEON FORGE GEM MINE we have been to several times. Way more rocks and much better experience. The sifting water flows constantly at the PIGEON FORGE GEM MINE.

Excellent experience! The sweet lady at the counter was awesome, very helpful and knowledgeable. We did the mining buckets and had a blast! We came out with a nice haul of shark teeth, geodes and agate, along with some other beautiful stones. Absolutely will be back!

We got the $35 bucket and my daughter got so many pieces! We also did the $5 glass bag. She had so much fun getting all of her treasures. She said 'we stole the pirates treasure!!' Haha. The gentleman inside was very informative and helpful. Also gave us a great idea for the glass pieces. Would definitely come back when we are in the area again. Lots of pretties to look at!

This place had a fun store with a good selection of rocks and fossils but, we got a 20$ bucket and a 10$ bucket for the mine and the 10$ bucket had more rocks than the 20$ bucket! The guy that took our money had a cigarette right in front of us! And the mine had a water drip that went right into a bucket but it was right next to a antique store though

We stopped here specifically to gem mine (it's our thing) and had the BEST time! The shop owner (a veteran - thank you for your service) was very knowledgeable (third generation miner) and enthusiastic to share what he knows. Super awesome place that we will DEFINITELY be back to!!!

Blink and you’ll miss it! This is a cool little spot and doesn’t feel so commercial like other gem mining in the area. The kids had a fun time going through their buckets, and the owner even gave them from free extras on the way out.
