I heard awful things about the utilities being extremely high in Lafayette before we moved here from Chickamauga, so I was dreading my first bill, but even though our new house is 1,000 sq/ft bigger than the old one, our first 3 bills were only about $20 more than when we had Georgia Power. These have been the hottest months, too, so I'm shocked. Every time I go to their office to sign up or pay my bill, the women are really nice too. So far, we love living in Lafayette!

How does it take two days to turn on someone’s power and they have small kids and you make all the food in their fridge go by and it was supposed to be cut back on at 5 pm and it wasn’t even supposed to be cut off the 30 th when I paid it was supposed to get cut the 31st

They charge a fee separately so my bank always rejects it. Almost a year ago I paid over $500 which reversed. So I went down and paid cash. Like I said almost a year later they're saying that I didn't pay it. I know I did because if I hadn't they would not have turned my power on at my new place. Now I have no power. They won't work with anyone on their bills. And if you ask for someone above the manager they say there is no one. I bel eve this place needs to be audited. My cash payment was made to a new employee that is not there anymore. Gee how convenient. I bet she was fired for theft but guess that's not their problem it's mine.

Not sure why this place gets so many terrible reviews unless it's being confused for a different place close by. I've been here several times to pay my bill and the employees at the drive thru window have always been so sweet, polite, and helpful. It's a quick and easy process as far as I can tell, hopefully this trend of good experiences continues.

My bills are always sky high and I live alone. Right now I have a water leak and I have called to see if someone can come look because water is coming out close to the road. I have had to turn my water off. They have yet to come out. It normally takes me over a week to get someone to look at anything. They could do with some better service and try to help get people's bills lowered. It shouldn't be that high.

I am shocked at all of these comments about this place...I have been with this company since 2015 and I think it is the best by far than any other place I have ever delt with! The staff is very polite and helpful in every way...I was concerned about one of my bills and the lady at the window went out of her way to explain it to me...so patient with me...I am so grateful for this kind of service...also...when I had an increase in one of my bills, they quickly brought it to my attention and it turned out that my air conditioner was broken ...I got it fixed and ...BOOM...problem solved! If they had not alerted me then my bill would have sky rocketed...I am very thankful...one more thing...when my daughter was moving to this area she was low on funds to pay her deposit but because of the kindness of this company, I was given valuable information about how I could help my daughter with this problem! This is not part of their job but they care about you and it shows!! This comment may be long but if it seems to be ok to bash a company...maybe it is ok to give credit where credit is due!! Thank you, City, of Layafette for all you have done for me and my family!! Blessings to you and your staff!!

I have lived here about 7 years and have had virtually no issues with the city utility department. I've had to contact them once about a billing discrepancy. They listened to what I was saying and promptly resolved the issue in a courteous way. I love having all my utilities on one bill, and the online portal has made the payment process very simple. Out of all the places I've lived, the utility experience here in La Fayette is the best by far.

They billed my son and his family $700 last year for water not long after they moved into their home in LaFayette. They apparently had not been reading the meter monthly and just guesstimating. When they saw they were under, they billed my son for their mistake. Now, my son and family got a bill for over $3000 for water! Apparently there was a leak in the winter and they had been reading the wrong meter... yes, the wrong meter. Now they’re charging late fees and doubling price to include sewer. They have 2 small children and are threatening to turn off the water if not paid. They are blackmailers and thiefs!!! They have a monopoly, so no options to get rid of them 😡
