Absolutely stunning national park. So much to see. We loved visiting heart rock, cap rock, and skull rock areas. Cap Rock area great for bouldering, for all levels of fitness/expertise. Everyone from my 11 year old first-timer to my afraid of heights husband to my nephews who work in a bouldering gym had a blast climbing. Wanted to see Star Wars area but didn’t realize the drive required 4WD and we were in a rented minivan. Visitor Center was smaller than I was expecting but employees were knowledgeable and it had nice bathrooms, and you could buy your entrance passes there to save time at the gate. $30 day pass covered everyone in our vehicle (5 adults and a child), which was very reasonable.
Plan your route and buy your water before you enter because once you’re in, you lose cell service in some places and there aren’t drinking fountains or water bottle filling stations. We did stop and use the pit toilets at one point and they were very clean and well stocked. Paths are well-kept and clearly marked. I did not see a single piece of trash on the ground anywhere in the several hours we spent there.

One of my favorite parks. I know the desert isn’t for everyone but I recommend everyone visit at least once. Early spring is the best time of year IMO. Joshua tree has a long and rich history and is filled with amazing formations and wildlife. There is something for everyone here.

Beautiful national park with so much to explore and do! Many of the hikes are short easy trails with such fun things to see. I recommend hiking heart rock, arch rock, skull rock (this one is right against the road so no hiking necessary), barker dam, and hidden valley. Loved seeing the Joshua Trees and the amazing rock formations.

Breathtaking views at Keys View and so many massive unique rock formations to see. Joshua trees everywhere of course, but so much more to see and do than that. Don’t skip the drive on Pinto Basin Rd toward I-10, it’s a fun, windy drive with really neat basin and distant mountain views. So much better than I had expected!

Very cool. Went on a Fri in January. Not a ton of people. The rock formations were interesting and fun to climb around. Didn't see any wild life. pretty desert oasis. Dogs aren't allowed on trails, only allowed like 100ft from the road. Family friendly, you can climb and walk as much or as little as you want and still explore a lot. Visitors center in Joshua Tree was open. Definitely worth a day trip from LA!

It was 40 degrees and windy in Feb. when we visited.. so dress warm, but the hiking and rocks are super cool.. Of course the 'Joshua trees' and other plants.. Great sunsets and just great outdoor experience.

Such a beautiful place. We went with 3 children under the age of 3 and this place had good trials for them as well! Bathroom situation was okay (as expected as this is a national park). Easy to navigate. Hoping to not let the government take away more funding and park employees because places like this need to be preserved!

Intriguing terrain throughout the park from the boulders, cacti, and Joshua trees. Breathtaking views of rock mountains. Peace with adventurous opportunities throughout the journey. Stop at the exhibits along the way to see the beauty in nature.
