Quick amazing service. We noticed our hot water heater was going out and called Jackson Electric at 1pm and left a message. They called back at 1:30. And the repair man was at the house by 2:20 The repair was done by 2:40.

When I first moved into the area, I could NOT tolerate Jackson Electric. Mind you, it is the ONLY company I can get where I’m at and still is, going on 11 years later; however, I’ve grown to enjoy them thoroughly.
When I first moved up here, I was a lot younger & I believed the world owed me something & throughout my career that got beat out of me luckily! I can gratefully call myself one of the lucky ones for that, & due to that knowledge, I can give a HONEST review of Jackson Electric.
Why is it 4 stars & not 5? Because I don’t know what Excel up here is like, back in IL when I had them my electric bill was a lot cheaper 🫣. HOWEVER, I do prefer cooperatives over big corporations; so it’s a horse a piece. 🤷🏻‍♀️
Now that I’m a full grown adult & no longer “stick it to Jackson Electric” by not paying my bill in the winter, guess who has a steady bill?
Also, if the people who are constantly complaining about the power outages, I didn’t know that JE controlled Mother Nature 🙄 or people whom drive upon electric poles.
They also must not be aware of the workers that are constantly on call & be called out, not only on the weekends and holidays; but at 2 am while they’re sleeping during said thunderstorm….

To be clear, I have never worked for Jackson Electric, nor do I have family members working there. I’ve just grown to become an appreciative adult that values people’s hard work. 🤷🏻‍♀️

The power surges can be annoying due to that automatic coffee pot, sure; but again - are you living in Chicago, New York City, or even Madison & having to deal with the traffic & their way of life? No, then remember to be grateful. 🤷🏻‍♀️
Also, regularly pay your bill on time (auto draft really helps 😅) & you’ll see a BIG difference on your bill after a while, that’s the benefit of being a cooperative & not a corporation. 😉

Been w/o power now for over a day, I have a 3 year old and 4 year old in the house and it dropped from 70° to 50° inside the house. This is absolutely unacceptable, everyone in my area that have Jackson Electric have no power, but the people with Xcel in the area got power back the same day it went down. I will definitely be switching electric companies. What a poor excuse for a electric company, if I could rate zero I would.

We just moved to town last year. We were sitting around last night/sat night at 10:15p and a loud backfire sounding shot rang out and the power went out. We called and John took our info so professionally and said we’ll get that fixed as soon as possible. We wondered what ASAP meant. Well, they came right out and got it back on ASAP.
So impressive JE BRF!

Here we go again... It's only been 2.5 weeks since my last outage (4 days) and I'm back in the same predicament. We (the consumers) are getting tired of having no power for hours and sometimes days on end at a minimum of 8 times a year. You know where your trouble lines are so why aren't there any preventative actions being taken to mitigate outages?

Jackson Electric, you're failing us.

So they demand a deposit, for a seven year old oops in my credit! Ok fair enough I had to pay it before I could get service! Yet to get ur money back u wait three months and have to call repeatedly , and find that they are lying to you! I was told three different times, the check is in the mail!!! I disconnected in may, and still now it’s July 23rd and again told, we are mailing it out today!!! They have the worst customer service and seems no one knows what’s going on there!

We attended the annual picnic. They served good picnic food, had plenty of seating for social distancing, lots of garbage receptacles, root beer on tap! They are a great company and show appreciation for their customers.

Days without power and they’re not even concerned about our well being. If you don’t pay the bill they shut your power off every 30 minutes, but if the lines are down you can basically go die- they don’t care. They’re not helping you.
