Yesterday, there was a breeze - power out in NW Madison County. Today, it rained - power out in NW Madison County. This is on top of the once per month power outages they normally have. The admirable credit rating Huntsville Utilities maintains is a direct result of their low operating costs and very little debt - high profits, no investment in ability to provide service, all while taking on new customers. They are profitable because they provide an unreliable, third-world grid at a rate just slightly below the national average. Of course, Huntsville Utilities is a monopoly that is extremely difficult to change. However, I think a serious conversation should be started to restructure (senior leadership and Board of Directors), reorganize, and/or develop alternatives for utilities in the Huntsville area. Also, Google Maps should offer negative stars because one is far too generous for Huntsville Utilities.

I called inquiring about a charge on my bill today. The representative I talked to was dismissive and what really prompted me to write this review was the fact that I asked for a call back as they needed to "look into the situation further". And the trick this employee pulled was to call me and immediately hang up once I answered. I'm guessing so that it shows that she called and I would be discouraged to go through the phone system again. I am highly disappointed in the unprofessionalism and the fact that they hired an employee like this. I also want to point out that I have been very respectful and polite the entire conversation. This employee needs to be fired. This incident occurred today.

I paid the majority of my bill outside at the kiosk. But, realized the last $ 17.00 of my bill was going to be taken from a $100 bill so.....I walked in to pay. I was rudely told by the lady at the counter "next time you need to go to the kiosk over in the corner, it gives change" Even tho I was the ONLY customer at the counter, I did just that. The stupid machine gave me over $80 in FIVE DOLLAR BILLS.
I can't stand that place. I absolutely hate having to interact with ANYONE THERE. Even if the visit goes "smooth " it's only because I continue to overlook their lack of professionalism and courtesy to the public.

Only reason I gave a one star is to write a review for your horrible customer service. I have paid this company lots of money for horrible service and I asked for a courtesy credit due to the inconvenience of my power being cut off for no reason at all no acts of nature and during a overtime playoff game with a 2 yr old. I have never received a full credit for any water leaks that occurred before the new updated system was installed. No customer service at all the company might as well go AI because the people that are in position to do something don't care. Time to figure out this Solar energy thing I guess because Huntsville utility does not care about its customers.

There needs to be an option for less than one star because that’s what this utility company deserves. They can’t even keep the power on that they’re charging you for. I have been working from home the last week and have been kicked out of meetings and phone calls because they can’t keep the power on. It’s 2024 How are we still having power outages this frequently. The entire block !no power almost 24 hours out of the last 48. It’s almost 100° outside and they can’t keep the power on so we can run the air conditioning there needs to be credit or payback from this company to its customers

Company keeps sending bill to my house even though it’s wrong name and never had account with them (I live 750 miles away in the DC area). I’ve called multiple times to correct issue but they say they need to look into the matter, been looking into it for a year now.
