I came to this location looking for a specific tool that was sold out at the Winder Ace Hardware. I found the item here, but when I went to purchase it, Larry told me it wasn’t on sale. That was confusing, because Winder had already informed me it wasn’t a national promotion—implying that stores could set their own pricing.

When I questioned Larry about it, he suddenly changed his response and said, “Oh yeah, it is on sale.” At that point, he had already scanned the item. So either he was trying to charge me full price intentionally, or he didn’t know how to check properly. Neither is a good look.

Next, I attempted to use a $5 off $30 reward that Ace Hardware had sent me. My total before tax was $39, but Larry told me I couldn’t use it because it was sent from the Winder store. That’s simply not true—the rewards are issued by Ace, not individual locations. At that point, I gave up on the sale and bought the item elsewhere.

To make things worse, Larry walked away mid-transaction just to put the item back on the shelf. That kind of dismissive behavior is unacceptable. If you can’t treat all customers with respect—especially customers of color—you shouldn’t be working in retail.

This store has always felt disorganized, and this experience confirmed that. I won’t be returning

I had the best experience shopping here. I purchased a grill for my husband’s Christmas present, but when I told the clerk I had no way to get it home, he said they delivered. As promised, it was delivered to my house right on time. The two young men were very courteous and helpful. I will definitely skip the big box store next time.

Today, I bought 80 dollars worth of tools and material from your store over three visits. I bought a rotary rasp to clean out the deadbolt hole on my front door because the lock was not engaging properly. I bought a rotary grinder also. The rotary rasp broke within 1 minute of using it on the wood hole. The rasp portion of the tool separated from the shaft, it may have been not welded at the factory. When I entered the store I handed it to the cashier and said I needed to return it but needed something else, I returned to the counter with my other item and the clerk said she couldn't return it because I didn't have the receipt, I had just purchased the item 1 hour before and the cashier remembered me, I told the young lady at the counter that that was ridiculous another young lady then approached as backup to the first because I was visibly upset and got aggravated. Then another man came up to the counter and said look here and pointed to a return policy on the back of the cash register. I told him I just bought it one hour ago and he asked what I used it on, I told him the wood on my door and he accused me of lying about it with a ridiculous smirk on his face, I held the product up in front of his eyes and showed it was defective. He was un accommodating and sarcastic. The item still had the ACE price tag on it!!! I discussed with him that everything I bought that day was higher priced when I got to the checkout than it says on the shelf!! I buy a couple thousand dollars worth of stuff a year from your store because of the convenience, I am willing to even pay the higher prices that you charge because your local and convenience, this item was $ 5.49 and you lost a couple thousand a year in business over this defective item You should talk to your employees about being a bit smarter with customers or you will lose them all!!! This one won't be coming back!!@

This Ace Hardware store should pop up on Google when you want the definition of Customer Service. Everything Hardware and more. I cut my keys today. Buttom line helpful store associates and well stock. Five stars for me.

I go in there to buy nails with my husband this store is huge nobody offers to help… i ask one of the employees an older dude if i could use the restroom and he has the nerve to ask for a man or woman Who’s asking dummy? Pathetic

I ordered ice melt online and drove over an hour to get it. Got there and the order had been cancelled and the cashier told me they didn't have the item. Another employee went about and beyond and told us they had some delivered and went back and got it for us!
