Fantastic walk with 10 and 12 year old. Brought towels and swim suits for a dip at top as hot day. Remember sunscreen. Jelly legs on the walk down though so be careful!
£3 parking or free for NTS members.
Lovely area to even park up and have a picnic and let kids splash in stream.

I loved coming here! A very peaceful and beautiful place to spend the day! There is quite a lot to do in the area.

Speaking to on of the National Trust staff the walk up the taller side of the mountain takes roughly 45 minutes to get to the top.

On the smaller side there is also a viewing point that is just as gorgeous and took me around 10 minutes or less to get to the top!

This was an amazing trail, up and down the tricky route toock 2 or 3 hours but cohld be done faster. Stunning veiws but its a bit sketchy at some parts because one slip and you die. Not suitible for dogs if you dog pulls at all and if your dog likes sheep.

Fabulous walk up past the waterfall to Loch Skeen. It's definitely worth it! Took about an hour to walk up (with thirteen year old in tow). Bit quicker on the way back down. Parking was £4 per vehicle (24th July 2024).

Amazing place one of my favourite places. Make sure to climb the ridge on the left and around and down the other side. The right hand side can be boggy.

One of the best sights south of Edinburgh!! The drive in is spectacular and the view of the valley from the east is unbeatable. It is just stairs to the top but the views make it worth it. Seeing the water swirl down the cliff is an incredible sight. Also the loch at the top is really pretty. It is surrounded by a large, steep Corrie wall. Cannot recommend this place enough. Also there is plenty of parking at the base - although you have to pay for it.
