We have recently installed a solar power system from Freedom Solar on our home in Georgetown, TX. I had investigated three potential solar providers before settling on Freedom Solar. They weren't the least expensive, but they offered the most efficient system for the cost (based on panel and battery specifications).

Greg, the salesman, was effective in keeping us informed throughout the process.

Freedom Solar's installation efforts were outstanding: both the panel team and the electrician showed dedication to safety and efficiently. Brandon, the electrician, went out of his way to make sure the house electrical was left in better shape than when he arrived. At the end of the day for each effort, the garage and lawn areas were cleaned up and all evidence of the work (other than the final product) was removed.

We energized the system a day before high winds ripped through the area. The winds gave us an opportunity to see the backup capabilities in action as the local power utility suffered several short outages. The battery backup activated and kept the house powered, dealing with us using the dishwasher, washing machine and dryer (it was wash day). The apps on the phone showed the system was able to provide enough power to even resell excess.

We love working with Spencer Sobolik! He is very informative, and he can really get things done. There was a serious disconnect at times in other parts of the FS team lining up the work to come out to our Hill Country house to install the systems, but once we worked out the kinks everything was installed PDQ and the garage looks like new and the install outside looks like nothing happened - except for new panels on the roof. Hah! It works great, and we are generating a lot of power. If you want a really well installed, CLEAN job by a courteous team that really knows what they are doing - call Freedom Solar. It's that simple.

Freedom Solar installed our original 27 panels and 2 Tesla Gen 2 batteries. The system has functioned great. When a panel went bad, they replaced the inverter within a couple of months. We just got 3 more panels and 2 more batteries installed at a really decent price.

Freedom Solar kept me updated on project progress (some of the permits, upgrade to meter, etc take a long time). They came down and performed each step in the process on the day they said they would. They did a really nice job too.

I highly recommend them if you are looking for solar installation. I would buy from them again.

Working with Freedom solar, especially Spencer was terrific, he walked me through the whole process and was always available when I had a question.
I installed a 10KW system in 2022 and added 2 Tesla batteries in 23.
All the permitting and PEC paperwork was initiated by Freedom couldn’t have been easier. I would also like to give a thumbs up to Bo the electrician who worked on both the panel and battery installations.

I have a friend that also used Freedom and she is as happy as I am.

I recommend Freedom to everyone who asks about my install.

I had solar installed at my residence along with a Tesla PW3. Freedom solar installed the equipment in one day. Brad Dette spent a few weeks looking at the trade offs of the system to ensure the most efficient products were utilized. As promised the installers were kept conduit off the roof and the PW3 was connected in the garage!

I’ve always wanted to get solar power for my home but wasn’t sure of the whole process. Steve and the crew at Freedom Solar Power did a wonderful job explaining in what order things had to be done and why! The panel install was efficient and clean; electrical box install was even quicker and the technician was very helpful in explaining how to monitor the system. When we finished up everything Steve made sure to go over the system with us and address any questions or concerns. I can’t say enough great things about this team!

Run Away. Far, Far away. Mind bogglingly horrible customer service. Took several calls and emails to get an address for Tesla to send a replacement PowerWall. Took several calls and emails to get confirmation that they received it. Now they say I have to wait another 30-days to (hopefully) get an install date.

Very frustrating to say the least. Look elsewhere.

**Update. I see their marketing department is efficient and responds quickly to reviews. Hopefully they will read this update too. Freedom Solar: Really? I should contact customer service with any questions? You serious? Who do think I’ve been contacting? I only have one question, the same question I’ve been asking several times. WHEN CAN YOU COME OUT TO INSTALL THE REPLACEMENT POWERWALL?

If you really cared about customer service, you would have contacted me instead of responding to my reviews.

**UPDATE #2. My review got some attention and FINALLY got an install date. Not only did they not install the replacement PowerWall, now the other one isn't working! They said Tesla needs to fix it, they can do it remotely. I waited a week, and called Tesla. After 20mins of back and forth, they finally saw the ticket, but said they are waiting for someone to be onsite!! Called Freedom Solar again and after the usual BS of "I can't find your account", they said someone will call me back. Yeah right, If I had a dollar for every time they said that, then didn't, I could afford 3 new PowerWalls. So...after 3 months and HOURS of my time, not only is my broken PowerWall not fixed, but the other one is now offline too! ****

We love the idea of a local solar company and were so excited to get our project installed as we are huge solar proponents.

The salesperson explained that the project would be completed by the end of the year, then came back to us explaining that trying to get the Austin Energy Rebate of $2500 would delay the project. We agreed, and signed the project contract. Solar panels were installed, and as soon as we paid the project went quiet—it has been 8 months and we still do not have working solar panels. I have been calling the company each week, and each time they state a different reason for delay. The timeline promised is vastly different than the reality. Their contractors have been professional and everyone is kind, but in the end all I want is to have a working solar panel system, while I currently just have very expensive roof tiles. I would not trust the timelines communicated by this company and would seek another company for your home solar project.

Edited after reading further reviews—I thought this was an isolated problem as the team sounded so surprised by it. Clearly they want you to pay them and then they stop providing service. Find another company for your solar projects y’all!
