Absolute garbage. They were supposed to turn my gas back on after they screwed up the temper shut off twice. Ticket was for a certain date. If I wasn’t home to stop the guy the first time they would have shut it off 2 days later.
Then they come the next day and shut it off. No call or anything. Now today they were supposed to turn it back on and you guessed it. They didn’t show up. For a utility company you would think there would be some sort of urgency behind power related matters.

Not to mention 50+ minute hold times.

Customer service is the worst. They shut my service OFF a day before the bill was even due, then never informed me I have to call customer service when the bill is paid so they can turn it back on. Conveniently it was a Friday afternoon forcing me to go the weekend with no gas service. Called Monday again and they finally sent someone out to turn back on, then charged me $60 reconnect fee when you shut off my service a day before the bill was due. Is this 1990 that I have to call and inform you that I paid my account and to return service. This company is the WORST.

Fpu turned off my gas sent it to collections I was out of the country working for a few months so I'm not upset about them turning it off that's understandable. I called back in to get the services reconnected they say pay the collection company and they will turn it back on. So I pay 405.44 to turn the gas back on to the collection company. I get the confirmation number from the collection company just like fpu asked me to do. I called back fpu with the confirmation for.the payment they said ok give them 48 hours they will receive the payment and reconnected my service. Mind you I have little children a new born a 1 year old a 2 year old a 3 year old and a 5 year old that can't take a warm bath and we are dead in the middle of the winter. Fpu informed me that they can't reconnect my services until the payment is sent from the collection company back over to them and it could take a month...... A MONTH ? AFTER I PAID YOU ? IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WINTER ? This the worst company I ever been involved with in my life. I hate it here πŸ˜’

Ok, look. I get utility workers are allowed on your property to read meters but they need to have the common decency to knock on the door in case someone is home and say "I'm just here to read the meter out back". It's NOT ok for me to see some grown man walking past my bedroom window at the BACK of my house, with no ID visible! We've had issues with people just walking onto our property. Have had to call the police and have them removed type issues. I honestly don't like having to cuss people out while they're doing their job buuuuut I guarantee he wont do that at this house again πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™€οΈ. You don't just walk behind people's homes, open the gate to their backyard, and start creeping around! Beyond upset right now...scared the mess out of me...
Do better florida public utilities.

Update:
I called customer service and told them what happened. The representative I spoke with was very understanding and even sent an email to the necessary people regarding the incident. She explained that I should expect someone to come read the meter around this time every month. That's helpful for me, but what about my 77 year old Mom with alzheimers? And all the other residents in Florida in similar situations? It takes a few minutes to knock on the door, especially if a car is in the driveway. The customer service agent agreed and was very understandin so a note was added to our account to notify us upon arrival.. Even if nothing is done, she was helpful and polite... and now it's on the record if it happens again.

Worst customer service I ever seen, they never get back to you and refuse to help. They try to charge you for stuff you never even received and don't even tell you what the charge was for and then refuse to give you gas unless you pay this mistery bill that they can't even tell you what the charge was for or when it happened. Bunch of crooks and scammers.

Run don’t walk away from this company! Really poor customer service. Billing department is a mess. They tack on undisclosed fees to your account. Don’t send invoices and let you rack up late fees.
