The homeowner and I received the runaround from FPL Engineers for well over 2 months. The task was simple...move the tension wire in order for me to complete the fence job.

If i could give them negative stars I would. They are absolutely the worst company and the biggest crooks, not only that they are participating in organized fraud by collecting a fee and calling it one thing when really it's something totally different.
Go look for yourself on your bill is a "franchise fee" that we are charged monthly as a percentage of our monthly bill added to it.
Go look up the definition of "franchise fee"
We don't get intellectual property, we don't get to use the "FPL" name to make money or provide a product or service. We don't make any money and yet WE pay their "franchise fee" which was supposed to be a percentage of THEIR profits paid to the city and county's to utilize the right of way for transmission of power and maintenance of the lines and equipment.. and really has NOTHING to do with franchise, intellectual property, name/brand, or equipment (from the "franchisor" in this case the city or county) as FPL owns the poles and lines and all equipment.
So instead of taking and paying a percentage of their profit after costs and paying it to the city and county for use of ROW like it should be they illegally call it a franchise fee and pass it on to each of us. This is very illegal and it involves FPL and your local representatives.
This is the smallest tip of the iceberg for these crooks they run meters fast provide inaccurate meter readings, charge people insane deposits after years of service and already having a deposit on hand. They refuse to admit when they are wrong, no matter what's said or done no matter what is found they stand in their stance the customer is wrong.... even if beyond a reasonable doubt that it's even remotely close to being accurate or true.
I can't wait for a better power company to come in and close them down

If I could give negative stars I would. I have been waiting a month for a bill at my new place and just got it today. They can email me when they got my payment and when my power is restored but not letting me know I'm past due and they are going to be disconnected? Communication is absolute crap. Also the person I spoke to on the phone while I was crying because of have 4 children and they can't sit without power gave zero crap and was in no way compassionate. Wish I had choices and wasn't forced to deal with this company.

This is 100% the worst company I have ever dealt with. They're biased, racist and could care less about their customers. I waited for power to get turned on out here for 5 months, I froze almost to death out here begging FPL to help and they did not. I told him I could not afford a high deposit Bill and they sent one anyway. Now after waiting months to get my power on now they're going to turn it off a month later because they did exactly what I told them, ask them not to do. They won't spread out the deposit over a couple payments and believe me it is high. No just turn your power back off they don't care it could be the middle of summer it could be the dead of winter they do not care there's no other power company I can use and this is probably the problem. I have never faced in my 65 years a worse company than FPL Pensacola and to be honest you can feel the racist bias can every single person damn there you talk to at FPL Pensacola I've never had to deal with something like this before but it's so obvious it's pathetic. If these people don't care about their customers maybe they should step aside and allow a power company that does care move in because I can tell you if you ever come across hard times the first thing you're going to lose is your power, not your car, not your motorcycle, the first thing you're going to lose is your power and that's probably the last thing anybody wants to lose. These people are Stone Cold could give a crap less about another human being that's actually able to make the payments just not the high payment they want AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST THEY WILL GIVE YOU NUMBERS OF CHARITIES TO USE SO THEY CAN GET THEIR MONEY AND THEY GIVE THIS NUMBER TO PEOPLE THAT CAN ACTUALLY PAY THE BILLS JUST NOT THE HIGH AMOUNT THEY WANT WHEN THEY WANT SO THEY SUGGEST YOU PUT ANOTHER HUMAN BEING OUT THAT REALLY DOES NEED HELP BY GIVING YOU THE CHARITY'S PHONE NUMBERS SO THEY CAN GET THEIR MONEY SO HERE PEOPLE ARE GIVING AWAY MONEY TO PEOPLE THAT REALLY DON'T NEED THE MONEY SO THEY CAN GET THEIR MONEY BECAUSE THEY'RE ALL ABOUT THE MONEY AND NOT THE CUSTOMER SO THEY SUGGESTED TO ME TO GO SEE A CHARITY INSTEAD OF MAKING THREE PAYMENTS SO I HAVE TO GO SEE A CHARITY TO GET HELP AND TAKE FOOD OUT OF SOMEBODY ELSE'S MOUTH THAT REALLY NEEDS TO HELP SO FPL WILL GET THEIR MONEY

If I could give this company negative stars I would. Not only are they a monopoly that cheats the people of Florida but theyâve also built their get rich enterprise on land stolen first from native Americans. They are also terrible at customer service. They have a massive storefront on the water but not one employee there to assist you in person. If you go to the building they redirect you to call the call center. Then when you call for assistance the employees at the call center wonât assist you in any way with billing. They refer you to do it yourself online. Or route you to their terrible phone system that canât understand the most basic of expressions. And they get away with it because theyâve monopolized public resources. This company is the worst ot the worst.

Iâve lived in the panhandle THREE WEEKS and have already gotten âwe are experiencing temporary issues with this application.â when I attempted to pay online so then I called and gave them my credit card info just so they could email me and tell me they charged me $30 extra bc my payment was rejected!? I havenât had insufficient funds since 2010 when I graduated high school! so then I go to login to my account this morning and the entire site is down so I canât even tell the automated guy on the phone my account # and it doesnât recognize my social security number! WTF is going on! oh and Iâm only allowed to call during their business hours when itâs convenient for them. but then I canât even talk to anyone

I have called multiple times and spent over an hour trying to pay my bill early. Automated service tells me my account number and zip code are wrong and hangs up on me when I ask for an attendant. I called customer service number only and after waiting I was hung up on. This is an example of poor customer service so I hope this is documented. My frustration level is high and FPL must do better or I will not use their services going forward. I would rate a zero but it will not let me.

They transferred an account from 6 years ago with Gulf Power on my current account without notifying me via phone, via email or even by mail. My account with Gulf Power was disconnected six years ago. Without an outstanding balance. Threaten to cut my service off at my current address that was up to date. If I didnât pay the âsupposedlyâoutstanding amount from Gulf Power.
When I called the first representative she was very rude and could not give me an explanation of the Gulf power account. Then I talk to a supervisor , he was nice, but he couldnât tell me or show proof of the outstanding balance with Gulf Power. I wasnât even notified of the outstanding balance when I set up the service with FPL at my new address and Iâve been here almost 2 years. I donât understand how they can get away with this. They donât even deserve a 1 star.
