Had Auto pay setup with EPB for years now. Earlier this year my Credit card was renewed. I did not realize my autopsy was using this card. Missed 2 payments but had no idea because the emails they send out appear like a standard payment receipt in the subject matter so was completely unaware my payments were being declined. The day before they shut off my service the called during the middle of a workday which I couldn't answer and did not leave a voicemail. My service was shut off today and I had no idea. Now I have to pay for them to come turn it on and have to work somewhere else. Very frustrating and poor service. I realize it was my initial fault but feel like there should at least be a warning email sent out clearly addressing a service shutoff or similar.

Called in after midnight having some technically issues and Lex was everything that I could have asked for over the phone. It was a longer call (a bit complicated) and he was pleasant conversation, informing, and patient while he fixed the issue.

He provided me with all of the information for success and outlined my options going forward. 10/10 for service (P.S. he definitely deserves more $$ or a bonus or something)

There is no reason a customer should be able to pay on a closed fiber account for two months and it DEFINITELY shouldn’t take 5 weeks to transfer said credit to power account. I wasn’t aware we were back in 1980.

Absolute garbage company with even worse “customer service.” I’ll give them credit for their fiber service being consistent and well priced, but when a situation arose where I needed to switch existing service into my name from a previous tenant’s, they kept charging that tenant even though I specifically requested the account be setup on autopay to conjoin with my electricity service. Seven months later EPB hits me with a ~$500 bill saying I hadn’t been paying for the fiber service due to their own screwup. When I escalated the situation I was told that autopay conversation never happened even though they refused to provide any proof. Multiple managers promised call backs to further discuss that never happened. These people are scumbags, avoid their services if it all possible (which unfortunately isn’t realistic because they have a monopoly in Chattanooga).

Everyone needs to start monitoring your bills, EPB is scamming us of money ever month and for most it is probably going unnoticed but when you call to get it corrected they either hangup on you or try to justify scamming you out of the money! Again, EPB is most likely scamming you all out of money everything month so check your meters, compare your bills and usage! They just got an extra $10 of usage I didn't use and they're saying that's normal!

FITV is extremely poor, iffy service, clunky, archaic, and not ubiquitous. Not competitive in pricing, service, reliability, flexibility. Relies on immature, inadequately vetted apps. Not recommended.

Came home around 11PM and found that my internet wasn't working. I called around 9AM the next morning and the tech on the phone identified that a recent power outage fried my router while i was out traveling. I hung up with him and someone called me 5 minutes later telling me they'd be at my house with a new router in 20 minutes. By 9:45 I had internet again. I have honestly never seen such customer service. I am in awe!

Edit: They called me the next day and gave me a credit for the late fee amount and were apologetic for the lack of communication regarding the credit as well as the underlying issue.

They swapped payment systems and canceled my autopay in the process. Sent text messages that got auto filtered into my spam box that I never check because it's spam. Added late fees to my account instead of sending a letter saying that I needed to update my autopay. Spoke to customer service, and she promised to remove said late charges if I would pay the bill and renew my auto pay. I did and was still charged a late fee. I know it's 2024, but a text message is not suitable communication for a major account change like this.
