Froy the Installer was kind enough to explain the Install process and what to expect and when. He and his team were careful and focused on the project itself and customer care. That put me at rest to know they are capable of doing this installation in a professional manner.

Don’t expect a quick or easy process with ESP. Their customer service is probably the worst I’ve ever experienced out of any company. They came to install originally and then told me they wanted to run conduit on the inside of my house, on top of the walls. When I said this was unacceptable, they told me to find my own contractor to run the conduit. Then my customer service rep ghosted me, choosing not to ever respond to me. I was forced to call in to their customer service center over 25 times across 2-3 weeks until finally, they decided to respond to me. At this point they still requested I find a contractor to do work as they said opening up drywall was out of the scope of work. At this point I was assigned to a project manager. It was utter hell trying to get into contact with him. He refused to answer any calls and said he only responds to email, what kind of contractor doesn’t take a call. At this point, they reassigned me to another customer advocate, as the second one they assigned me also decided to ghost me. Extremely unprofessional. Finally, they sent Tyler, who runs the install dept. out to the house. Tyler may be the only competent person at this company. Within 1 minute, he agreed it was ridiculous that the customer service team had told me they cannot run wires into the walls. In fact, he added that this was actually unnecessary for the install and that this whole issue which had taken almost a month and 30 phone calls, hours waiting on hold, was actually a non-issue and that the original team sent out to install had no idea what they were doing. When it comes to the actual work done, it seems they did a good job. After 7 long months, we finally installed. If you go with esp beware, they have one of the most incompetent customer service and project manager staff I have ever worked with. It’s truly a shame because their installers are respectful and generally good. I would stay away if I were you…unless your life goals include memorizing their hold music.

The installation itself was fine. The cleanup was not. I had provided paint for the crew to use on a line to the electric box. The paint job did NOT cover the pipe evenly, and then whoever did it failed to cover the remaining half-gallon+ of paint and in fact lost or misplaced the lid entirely. I found it the next day with debris already on the surface and had to gerryrig a lid. VERY annoying. Further, the crew did not finish the installation until after dark. I had gone out to ask if they might better return the next day but they said they were done, just cleaning up. It must have been too dark for them to see because there were bits and pieces of supplies all over my roof and yard that I keep finding as I go about my yard work.

I was told that they would schedule the final inspection, but two weeks later, I'm still waiting. The communication is NOT stellar either.

We had our solar panels installed on September 3rd. It is now September 23rd. We are still waiting for the city of Ontario to inspect the installation.
I called the customer service department wanting a update on when they will come out. The ESP representative said probably in another week before they find out. I asked the person so it could be over a month before we get inspected? She said "Yes! Some people wait 2 months for the inspection!"
The installers did a clean job on the roof. But they left large tiles on the side of the house without telling us if it is alright to leave there. It is very much in the way. I am unable to water the plants on the side because the tiles block my way to move over there. The installers left without giving us the papers to show the inspectors.
My husband called the city of Ontario to see what is going on. They told us the company never submitted paperwork to them about the installation yet. The lady who worked for the city said they could have came out the next day after the installation if they submitted it to them!!
Victor Miranda (the sales person) never answers the phone. We have left multiple messages with him. He never returns our calls.
If you know all this in advance, then you guys will know how and what to do.
Before the installers leave, walk your parimiter. And make sure they give you the paperwork for the inspectors.
You call the city inspectors yourself. Things would go a lot faster and smoother for you. Do not depend on these people to do their job!

It’s been 5 days after the solar system install. So far so good. The installers did an amazing job with attaching the panels on the roof and the electrical systems on the wall. They cleaned up after and I didn’t have to do anything at all. Thanks Dylan for coming on the day of the installation. This company is highly recommended.

Please DO NOT GO WITH ESP!!
I made the mistake of rating them at the beginning of the project because they installed the panel fast, but to my surprise, they installed the panels without even having the city permit. It took them 3 months to get the system going and now, the 15 panels they installed are not even producing 20% of what they are supposed to. The answer I got from project management is that I have to wait one year for them to check the production of the panels. Also, the sales people are promoting batteries with the system and they don’t give what they promise. For the people who is thinking about getting solar panels, please make sure you read your contract prior to signing because once they install your panels, it’s over. ESP people do no want to take responsibility for anything. So, for I thought I was making the right decision, now has become a nightmare not only for having to deal with ESP personnel, but also for having to pay double. Now, I have to pay the solar panels bill and Edison.
PS. Not all solar companies are bad. I have solar in other properties with other companies and it haven’t had any issues. I truly regret going with ESP.
