I had a great experience with EDGE Energy and highly recommend the company. We had EDGE come out and do an audit and prepare a plan for our 90+ year old townhome. We compared a few companies, but found the project planners at EDGE to be the most knowledeable, practical, and helpful... with a competitive price. The work went great with attic spray foam insulation, building a back partition wall with loose fill insulation, and doing comprehensive air sealing. The process was quicker and easier than I'd expected. The EDGE team was expert, professional, and friendly. If I had a second attic, I'd have EDGE do that one too!

We're hot and cold with our EDGE experience. We chose EDGE for the quality of panel and warranty. The installation process was smooth. Tony was responsive during the process. EDGE has a production guarantee, which is also why we chose them. If the panels don't make within 10% of their projected kW, you get a check for the difference. This is where we go cold. Every year we're 13-18% shy of our claimed solar production. They have in fact kept their promise and paid us yearly for our underproduction, but we're pretty disappointed. I'd rather have used a company that just produced what they said they were going to. Maybe it was a mistake in the solar modeling or maybe it was something else... but the process of getting our yearly refund is really poor. I send countless unanswered emails... or emails that take weeks to get replies to. Eventually we get our check, but it often takes months and it really frustrating. "Lost checks" in the mail aren't irregular either. We floated the idea of adding another panel to make up for the difference, but they we're interested in doing that due to permitting costs, it was cheaper for them to just cut us a check every year rather than make the solar production right. I just moved to another house and am looking to put solar on my roof again - I won't use EDGE again. There are too many Solar companies out there that friends haven't had customer service issues with to roll the dice on EDGE again.

Abby and Edwin did a masterful job of resolving a problem with the inverters on my system. They made me aware of the process that would be followed to bring my system back to peak efficiency. When they were finished, Abby showed me the results online. He is a true professional!

A few years ago I received a grant and this company came to work on making my home more energy efficient. The patch work that was done was horrible, and not done correctly. It caused issues with mold and I’ll have to pay for a contractor to come in and fix my ceilings. The fan they installed in the bathroom has started to make crazy noises.

Last year, they kept calling because they received grant money for solar panels. I decline the offer at first and then after more phone calls I said sure. It was a drawn out process that failed inspection, the worker would show up randomly, no heads up. The drywall in my kitchen was sliced up, the inspector told them it needed to be taken care of but they didn’t. If you’re going to offer someone a service they didn’t ask for, you should at least make sure they don’t have to exhaust money on a contractor to clean up your work.

I was very excited to sign with Edge energy and move to solar. While in the long run I am confident in my decision to go with edge solar, mostly because of the guaranteed solar production and long term roof warranty, the path to solar has been rather painful. My reflection is not so much on the quality of panel or final install as it looks cleanly done, but more on the consistent bumps I've faced with edge energy.

To begin, they undersold how hectic the install day would be and how disruptive to working at home it would be. Despite requesting a different install day due to prior engagements I was asked to keep the install day and told the disruptions would be minimal. The day of, my drive way was flooded with cars that blocked by ability to exist the house. The point person, who didn't know they were a point person, wasn't on site so I had to call my edge rep. My wife was trying to work at home but the disruptions were constant and power was cut without any warning. The hole made inside for a breaker panel was 3x the size I was told it would be and cut in a manner that looked like a jig saw puzzle. The solar breaker box also was placed in my kids play room, which is ok, but I asked to put a protective cover over it to dissuade the kids from playing with it and was told this shouldn't be a problem. All in all from a pretty bad experience for an install day, I was told they really want to make it right to me, with more than just a "we're sorry". (still waiting for this)

After the install the panels failed the initial review from the county, again not an issue from my end as I'm sure this happens from time to time. They passed on the second try after changing some wiring bringing it up to code.

After repeated request, and no shows for appointments, they finally sent someone to fix the drywall at their expense. The guy did a really good job fixing the wall around the breaker box. During the fix, he turned off the breaker and never turned it back on. I didn't discover this for about 2 weeks missing out on solar production. Though brining it to the representative who was in charge of the drywall repair, nothing was done to compensate for 2 weeks of lost solar production.

I am still waiting for someone to come and put a cover over the breaker but this has clearly fallen off their radar and no one has called to double check to see that everything has been completed.

Given all the problems I faced with install its hard to give them more than 3 stars.

Edge Energy installed solar panels on my roof a few years ago. It was a difficult installation because of the shape of my rowhouse, and they managed to figure out creative solutions to all the obstacles that my house presented them. The system has worked flawlessly since then, and I couldn't be happier with it.

My solar panels were installed by Edge Energy several years ago. They still work just fine.
