I was yelled at that I need to wear a vest inside my vehicle. I explained that I would put it on before getting out but that they had no jurisdiction over what I wear inside my truck..
The vests they hand out are pink. Not very cool considering that their customers are 90% men.

Most current pricing as of 07/01/2024: (A mind-blowing 85% increase since June 2022):

-Minimum Fee Trash Load (800lbs or less): $90/load
-All vehicles trans load (800lbs or more): $125/ton
-Clean Greenwaste (800lbs or less): $80/load
-Clean Greenwaste (800lbs or more): $100/ton
-Clean concrete/dirt: $50/ton
-Mixed CDI load: $128/load *(NOW $105/load as of 02/23)*
-Household appliances: $30/each
-Hard to handle items (trailer, boats, camper, large trees, etc.): $100 each + $125/ton
-No hazardous waste, paint, batteries, tires, etc.

My Review:
In comparison to the Miramar Landfill, this is a LUXURY! Let me explain:
---Miramar Landfill - long lines to enter, long drive from the "pay booth" to the actual landfill, road turns to dirt...then to mud, large potholes in the road, very hard on your vehicle, your vehicle leaves the landfill filthy, you have a substantially high risk of getting a nail in your tire, and the commercial garbage trucks tail you the entire way in and out of the landfill.
---La Mesa Transfer Station - Typically shorter line/wait time, indoor setting, water misters to keep the dust down, minimal dust/dirt in comparison to Miramar, concrete floor (no dirt/mud/potholes), significantly lower chance of getting a nail in your tire (though still happens), and the guys that work there are always friendly and helpful!
You do pay a bit more for the added conveniences, but one nail in your tire at the landfill wipes out any small cost savings. Trust us!
Do yourself a favor, and go to the La Mesa transfer station over the City of San Diego Miramar landfill.
Oh, and they are open on the weekends (which are typically very quiet/minimal-no lines)!

Easy Peasy! .4 ton of home demo pieces and another .4 ton of green yard refuse. Went early and had a high viz vest. Friendly and efficient. Great location for us and simple access.
OK. Now this dump is not taking trash for two days in a row. Office can't give a number to call to check if the dump is open. Third day now of driving the truck full of trash. Yikes! I'm guessing they don't need residence brining trash?

Worse place to go to no one that works there knows what there doing horrible customer service they won’t even talk to you and you’ll wait in line for ever to it so mess up there you be waiting in line getting off the freeway cause the dumps full so they have everyone wait out in the street with trailers and everything in the middle of the road and mess the traffic so bad and after you wait they finally let you in and treat you like crap and if your driving around there and a Edco drivers will cut you off so bad you have to slam on your brakes place is a joke
