highway robbery...scamming...I have never dealt with Dominion Gas company until we moved to northeast Ohio. We rented an apartment here for 3 months during our relocation while our purchase of our house went through. During the time there we were told we would have gas and electric in our name, assuming we may need both we signed up for them not knowing what ran the apartment.
The gas company had a standard deposit of 36.00/month for 3 months or you could pay the amount up front. We were told we would get all this deposit amount back at the end of the time there, so we proceeded with the planned amount. No harm,no foul.
Later, I found out that wasn't true. Nothing at our apartment ran on gas, other than the heat system. (No hot water since that was electric-nothing but the heater per our maintenance man.) We were subsequently charged for the 3 summer months we were there @ $60.67/month.( $36.00 of that being our deposited amount and the remainder being a service fee for having this hooked up in our name.)THE METER READINGS WERE ALWAYS 0 ON EVERY BILL!!
I am sorely disappointed to know that it was a complete and total waste of my money to have this service, for which I am only getting a refund of $21.66 back. I have now paid to the company a total of $180.01 for nothing. In my opinion, you shouldn't be charged for a service you don't use, and the company should have communicated to us that the deposited amount we would never see again. We would have never signed up with them.
Oh and their customer service department has no idea how to explain a bill to you...

Words cannot express the frustration I have felt in dealing with this company. I moved and spoke to someone about having my service cut off. They did NOT do it. I had to call and wait on hold for almost 2 hours as I got switched around. I called and finally someone said they would take care of it. THEN... they tried to take money out of my bank account even though I had ALREADY PAID. They claim that you cannot pay ahead because they will automatically try to take it out on the date they have scheduled. So, I had paid early, but it didn't matter. I called and waited for another two hours. Once again, the person apologized and said they would fix it. Today, I received another bill for a late fee. I don't have time for another 2 hour call. This company is the worst. I plan on contacting the BBB.

The worst power company I have ever dealt with. When your company has problems with your meters transmitting. And then all of a sudden I get a 400.00 dollar jump because it wasn't transmitting correctly. And that's is from one one of your supervisors mouths. You say we started the discrepancy with the bill when this company came out to my house when they knew they messed up.. it's bad when now that it's reading correctly all your workers feel bad because it was an error on you. To bad your a power company, and we can do nothing about it
