We moved to Collin county 18 years ago. Coserv was absolutely amazing! Great customer service and great fair prices! Well, since 2020, they have become my worst nightmare!! Talk about ripping us off. Charges were quite suspicious especially the bill that was near $900 dated while we were out of town (and that was on average billing). It’s just the two of us here. We keep our A/C at 78 yet our bill continues to increase. During the winter, we rarely run the units at all!! Why because it’s so warm in Texas during the winter. So why am I receive one a bill for $600 on top of the remaining average billing!? We could not keep up the nearly $1000 a month bill!! So I cancelled the so called average billing. Since then our bills are back to near normal!! I believe they were just making up an amount and calling it ā€œaverageā€ . Folks, watch your bills closely and do not join average billing. I can’t wait until another electric company comes to Collin county !!!

I'm very disappointed in the customer service relationship that coserve has when you have a gas leak at the meter. Like all other adults, we don't monitor our usage on a day to day basis, so it would be great if coserve had some sort of way of alerting their Customers when they're could be a possible gas leak/ higher usage than normal. So now i'm stuck with a $400 gas bill when my average monthly usage is around $30-75 all because faulty equipment at their meter. We did appreciate this speedy response when we called for a possible gas leak. The gas leak was repaired, but I was hoping for some kind of credit since it was beyond our control. The billing representative stated the leak had no bearing on the usage and proceeded to lecture me on heating and cooling of our hvac system and how many cold days we had in our cycle. If we didn't have a leak, I wouldn't even have an issue and I would be paying the bill no problem, but we did have a leak.Your representatives came out and repaired it. Unprofessional coserve!

I am not asking for a full credit but I would expect Coserve to bill me what is fair.

I’m very disappointed with CoServ’s service. They only offer customer support from Monday to Friday, and there’s no way to get help on weekends, even during emergencies. That’s very inconvenient.

I recently moved and had to set up new electric service. The application process was complicated and full of unnecessary steps. It was frustrating and not user-friendly.

Overall, the service is poor and needs a lot of improvement.

I have been a CoServ customer for 10 years. I have paid my bills on time and in full for 10 years. I have never once tampered with gas lines, nor would I know how. However, yesterday I received a call from a a CoServ employee accusing me of tampering with my gas line. They disconnected our gas and want nearly $600 to turn the gas back on. This is currently a home I own that is being remodeled and I have not lived there since it was purchased. I have no use for gas in this home, nor have I been using any gas. They are also billing me for gas usage before the gas and electric account was in my name. Never the less their customer care team refuses to offer any assistance and while I do not need gas now at some point I will. I will be forced to pay tampering charges when I did not tamper, trip charges, and gas usage when I was not using any gas. This also makes me question their meter readings. The home was being remodeled. There was no water, no appliances, the heater was not being used. How does their meter show gas usage? It would be extremely nice to have alternative options to gas and electric, but nope I'm stuck with CoServ that treats their loyal customers like this!

I was embarrassed by the high cost, so I called the service for a checkup. They kindly listened to my story and made an appointment. The technician who visited my house was kind enough to look at the machine and explain it to me in a way that I could understand, even though it was cold. So I felt relieved.

We've been with them for 10+ years. Thus December my wife got sick. As a truck driver, load were scarce around Christmas, so we were having trouble with our payment. My wife called to see if we could get a few day extension to pay the bill. They said they would get with us in 2-3 days. Then without a word from them, they cut the power, and want over $300 on reconnect fees. So $500+ all together. My wife and I are both in our 60's and now need to figure how we're going to get heat and power back on

Where to start with this poor excuse of an electric provider. The customer service is a complete joke. No compassion, robotic, and rude. We had to sell things to get our electricity turned back on in 35 degree weather. We then got help from a local emergency assistance and was going to mail the check to them to pay for a portion of it. The reply was….ā€ Well, this still isn’t enough to cover the balance ā€œ. It wasn’t the point to cover all of it…it was to pay towards SOME OF IT! Regardless…they continue to be the worst customer service out there.

They use to be DENTON ELECTRIC CO-OP years ago with impeccable family values, service and hometown values. Sadly it’s gone to a company that’s money hungry, corrupt and couldn’t care less.

We were personally going to take payment there yesterday to get electric cut back on and they don’t even take payment in the office anymore! Maybe because they don’t want upset customers to come in.

Their go to in these reviews continue to beā€¦ā€we can’t find an account for you ā€œ do better CoServ. You should be ashamed of what you’ve turned into. Train your staff to have compassion, customer service and work ethic.

Sadly they monopolize our area with the only electric we can get is them. They know this and allow horrible treatment. They know you don’t have another option. As soon as we do…. I’m out! You guys are awful.

I am beyond frustrated with Coserv. I just received my latest gas bill, and the amount is absolutely outrageous—far higher than anything I’ve ever been charged before. There has been no significant change in my gas usage, so I can’t understand why the bill has skyrocketed.

I’ve tried reaching out to customer service for an explanation, but I’ve gotten nothing but unhelpful responses and vague excuses. It feels like they’re charging whatever they want with no accountability. This kind of price gouging is unacceptable, and I will be looking into other options if this doesn’t get resolved.

I do not recommend Coserv unless you enjoy being overcharged without reason.
