Rude and greedy lady surfing the scale. Ripped me off $40 just to recycle a Christmas tree. Initially said it was just a deposit but then wouldn't refund the deposit.

5-14-25 Update: I'm sure no one cares its just a dump, I initially wrote this review of course out of frustration eight years ago. But their recent "Response from the Owner" below is just PR BS. I reached out to them directly a month ago and nothing but crickets since.

The local landfill has increasingly become a critical yet challenging service for both regular citizens and professionals alike. With rising fees, the cost of disposing of waste is becoming prohibitive for many. This financial burden is compounded by the landfill's operational hours, which are not aligned with the needs of the community.

In the past, the flexibility of landfill hours accommodated those who, due to their work schedules, could only manage waste disposal later in the afternoon. Being able to arrive as late as 3:15 PM without issue was a convenience that respected the varied schedules of its users. However, the current policy of strictly enforcing a 3:00 PM closing time does not consider the unpredictability of daily responsibilities and common delays such as traffic. Such rigid timing is impractical and can lead to wasted trips, fuel, and time, which is particularly frustrating after a long day aimed at efficiently managing waste.

This lack of flexibility does not just reflect poor customer service; it also discourages proper waste disposal practices, potentially leading to increased illegal dumping, which harms our environment and community. A service meant to support public cleanliness and health should not add to the day's stress but should facilitate ease and accessibility.

Therefore, it is crucial for landfill management to reconsider its operational hours to better accommodate the schedules of its users, alongside a review of its pricing structure to ensure it remains accessible to all community members. By making these changes, the landfill can truly serve the community's needs, encouraging responsible waste disposal and maintaining public goodwill.

$50 for a truck load of general home waste is absurd. will make the drive to santa maria next time or just leave it on the side of the road like everyone else does in this area

Staff is always friendly. But $40 for a basic dump. +$5 for each safety vest that is mandatory to wear... and a $20 fee if you don't cover your load? A little ridiculous.

I called for information a matress removal. Did not realize I was calling the wrong number. Girl who called me back was INCREDIBLY rude an unprofessional. Didn't let me get a word in, interupted me to say "Ok bye" and hung up. It was my mistake to call the wrong number, but she didn't have to be so dang rude. It was a mistake. Get some manners.

My one experience here I sat behind two dump trucks and a subaru forester for 20 minutes waiting to get onto a scale and weigh my car. I was there to drop off a few empty cardboard moving boxes and the recycling container was like 100ft away behind their fence. You'd think they'd arrange it not to require an industrial weigh in behind full 40,000 lb trucks to drop off some recycling. The line never moved and I left.

As of November 1 2014, they are initiating a ridiculous $5 "safety vest charge" to all visitors not bringing in their own.

Website information is terrible and trying to call is terrible. I'm trying to find out what it cost to get rid of a dishwasher and is hard to get information.

Located at a beautiful spot. When I die throw me out there; the large animal disposal fees are very reasonable
